We’re gearing up to send some of our most engaged supporters a little summer reading! Chris Anderson's book #InfectiousGenerosity helps the giver in all of us give a little better. But don't take our word for it—the book is also on Bill Gates's summer reading list. We see the compassionate generosity mentioned in this book on full display every day, when supporters contribute to helping women across Africa and Asia access the life-transforming repair surgery that would otherwise be out of reach for them. Thank you, Chris, for the inspiring read!

Life Transformed: A Journey from Pain to Purpose. As we embark on a new week, marked by the powerful symbol of #InternationalDaytoEndFistula, we're reminded of the transformative power of breaking cycles and creating change. Today, we celebrate the incredible journey of Saida Nabwoba, whose life has been forever altered by the generosity of the Fistula Foundation and our dedicated efforts to rehabilitate and reintegrate those affected by fistula. Saida, a vibrant 31-year-old single mother of four, faced a battle that many cannot imagine. Years of seeking relief from incontinence led her to despair until she heard our call for help. Her story began with a traumatic labor resulting in a stillbirth, followed by the devastating diagnosis of fistula. The loss of her job and the departure of her husband, who just packed and left her, yet determined, to raise her children. Last year, we ran a radio advertisement at a local radio station featuring matters fistula, treatment, care, rehabilitation and reintegration services that are providing reprieve to thousands of women across the country. She wrote down the number and reached out our screening officer Ms. Florence Wanyonyi moved by her plight, referred her to Cherangany Nursing Hospital, the hospital is a part of the Kenya Fistula Treatment Network. Despite the challenges, Saida underwent two corrective surgeries, emerging from the ordeal healed and hopeful. But her journey didn't stop there. With your unwavering support, Saida embarked on a path of rehabilitation and empowerment, learning hairdressing skills at our center. Today, she stands as a beacon of hope, rejoining her community as a Safe Motherhood Advocate and a proud member of the Voices of Hope and Action Movement. She now dedicates her energy to raising awareness about fistula, guiding others towards treatment, and advocating for safe motherhood. Your support not only heals bodies but also rebuilds lives, turning survivors into advocates. Let's continue to break the cycle of fistula, one life at a time. Together, we can create a world where every woman has the chance to live a full, healthy life. #EndFistula #ideof2024 #internationaldaytoendobstetricfistula #BreakingTheSilence #SafeMotherhood #RestoringHope #RestoringDignity
