As National Foster Care Month comes to a close, we're proud to share how Arabella Advisors, a fellow B Corp, made a significant impact through their holiday gifting last year to children entering the foster care system. By partnering with us at Gifts for Good, they provided 23 backpacks, 38 blankets, 32 books, 94 dental kits, and 32 toiletry kits to children in foster care — all made possible by our amazing Impact Partner, Comfort Cases, Inc.. 🌍 Happy Earth Day! 🌱 We’re celebrating the incredible environmental achievements we've made together this past year through the power of good gifting. Thanks to our supportive customers and dedicated partners, we've made significant strides towards a sustainable future. 🌳 In 2023, we funded the planting of 185,816 trees, contributing to global reforestation efforts and helping combat climate change. That's equivalent to a forest larger than the size of New York's Central Park, or DOUBLE the size of the country of Monaco! This wouldn’t have been possible without the engagement and enthusiasm of our customers and our collaboration with organizations like Eden Reforestation Projects. Other world-friendly metrics include: ✅ Removing 22,300 plastic bottles from the world's oceans ✅ Saving over 2.5 million gallons of water by using fair trade clothing suppliers that use bamboo or reclaimed materials. It's 💧World Water Day💧, and we wanted to highlight the amazing work our Impact Partner Water for Good is doing to bring clean drinking water to over 1 million Central Africans, and also the impact our clients are having on this effort. Water for Good believes everyone deserves to wake up each morning with safe water. They are on a mission to make that a reality, specifically in one of the poorest countries in the world—the Central African Republic. Through both drilling and maintenance services, over a million Central Africans are relying on their water systems for safe, clean water. As we were compiling our 2023 Impact Report, Water for Good shared with us that we had helped them provide about 8 cruise ships full of people (24,641 people to be exact) with clean drinking water every day for the whole of 2023. We were astounded by this metric, and also deeply grateful. None of this would have been possible without the amazing support of our clients and customers who made the choice to gift with impact during 2023. On this International Women's day, we want to shine a light on our special collection of gifts that empower women like Bijoya from India, who are gaining dignified employment as skilled 'makers' through the tireless good work of our cause partners. Since she was a child, the life of a sex-worker loomed heavily over Bijoya’s life. With a mother who constantly had customers in the same room as her and her brother, she was unable to study, and was pursued by the same men that her mother brought into their home. As she grew older, Bijoya would leave the house when customers were there, and it was on one of these days that she happened to meet a man who offered her a job as a maker. She is now married, in her own home, and makes enough money to help her mother break free of the life she has lived for so long. How you shop matters, and how you give gifts or company swag, matters. Every now and then, we hear stories like this that really drive this truth home, making us stop and rethink how we do things.
