This summer has been so amazing y’all. This is my second year in a row working for the National Park Service through the Greening Youth Foundation NA. This year I am a community outchreach ambassador at Pullman National Historical Park. I also had the pleasure of working with Alex Rubenstein head of the educational department with our summer camp program Pullman Summer Explorers! These are some pictures from us at Camp Bullfrog.

As part of this effort, the U.S. Forest Service has selected Trees Atlanta to lead a workforce development and tree planting program in metro Atlanta's CJEST communities. The Urban Forestry Career Pathways Workforce program, funded through the USFS Urban and Community Forestry Program, aims to provide training and job opportunities in urban forestry. This initiative will not only help grow the local green workforce but also enhance tree canopy coverage in underserved neighbourhoods. In partnership with Trees Atlanta, GYF North America is empowering community members to gain valuable skills, secure employment, and make a tangible difference in their local environment. On June 19, 1865, Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas and announced that the enslaved people there were free - over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. Juneteenth honors African American freedom and achievements, while also serving as a reminder that we must continue the fight for racial justice and equity. It's a day to celebrate freedom and honor the resilience of Black communities. Today, let's reflect on how far we've come, strive to amplify Black voices, support Black-owned businesses, and strengthen bonds within our diverse communities. #juneteenth #freedom

We are thrilled to shine a spotlight on our incredible Interns! This time, we focus on our team at the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park in Atlanta. We are warmly welcoming Ruqiyyah Muhammad and Tra’Vyon Reeves, who will be joining Kennedy Daniels. Kennedy has been on-site doing an amazing job with Web Engagement. GYF is immensely proud to provide our interns with the opportunity to engage with this historic landmark, delve into the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., and connect with the local community. As Dr. King said, “Everyone has an opportunity to be great because everyone has an opportunity to serve.” We are eager to witness the impact these interns will make as they learn, grow and contribute to preserving and promoting the inspiring history of MLK. #GreeningYouthFoundation #jobs #interns #hiringnow #hiringnow #MartinLutherKing #MLK #nationalparkservice #atlanta #ATL
