Gruzen Samton’s rich legacy of prominent design projects includes the Grand Central Subway Station, NYC Police Headquarters and Academy, and the Times Square Shuttle. The firm traces its heritage back to 1936 and the firm of Kelly & Gruzen, founded by Sumner Gruzen with Colonel Hugh A. Kelly. Jordan Gruzen and his MIT classmate Peter Samton joined forces the firm in 1967. The firm had a significant impact on the city of New York where the firm focuses on university buildings, high density housing, and other institutional and educational projects.
