#ThrowbackThursday Today on #WorldRefugeeDay 🌍, Euromed Migration V looks back on our Peer-to-Peer Conference held two years ago, titled ‘Capacity Partnerships: Responding to the Needs of Refugees by Developing Opportunities for Host Countries,’ which took place at the Dead Sea in Jordan 🇯🇴 in June 2022. The Conference was opened by Jordan’s Minister of Interior, H.E. Mazin Abdellah Hilal Al Farrayeh, followed by interventions from representatives of the European Union 🇪🇺, Germany🇩🇪 and the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD). Under the notion of joint leadership and shared responsibility through 🔴 Multi-Dimensional #Governance driving #MigrationCapacityPartnerships🔴, ministerial representatives of EU Member States and Southern Partner Countries, as well as migration experts from international organisations and academia gathered together to explore ways in which international cooperation could strengthen national and regional capacities to mitigate the challenges and maximise the benefits arising from #ProtractedDisplacement. Towards Investigative Excellence: Behavioural Analysis Training for Security Agencies   The Netherlands' Assistance to Lebanese Border Agencies project is excited to share the successful implementation of a specialized training programme on Behavioural Analysis and Predictive Profiling in Investigations for the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF), Internal Security Forces (ISF), and General Security (GS).   In today's complex security landscape, understanding human behaviour is crucial for effective investigations. This comprehensive training equips security personnel with advanced skills to analyze behavioural patterns, detect anomalies, and enhance decision-making processes.   NLIBMLBNV initiated the programme with a Training of Trainers (ToT) from 27 to 31 May 2024, covering body language, non-verbal communication, deception and stress cues, psychophysiological indicators, professional detachment and recognizing subtle cues for identifying suspicious behaviour, potential victims, and concealed threats beyond conventional security screening methods. The trainers then applied their newly acquired knowledge and skills, collaborating to deliver two sessions on Behavioural Analysis and Predictive Profiling in Investigations to an interagency audience from 03 to 06 June 2024.   A big thank you to Kim Covent who led these training sessions and to all our participants for their dedication and to our instructors for their invaluable expertise.
