On Friday, July 5th, 2024 at the TryEngineering Summer Institute, we explored various engineering fields, such as electrical, civil, mechanical, and aerospace. Our STEM summer program allows students from around the world (Israel, Brazil, and Central America) to name a few. In partnership with IEEE TryEngineering, I will be addressing the topic "Who Moved My Cheese in STEM?" as a visiting speaker. This event promises to be an engaging discussion on adapting to change and innovation within the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. I look forward to sharing insights and strategies that can help navigate the evolving landscape of STEM. As part of the Pre-U STEM program, I have been asked to speak at Summer Session 1 of the IEEE TryEngineering Summer Institute at Rice University School of Engineering. The goal of our 2024 engineering camp is to spark enthusiasm in engineering and technology in the next generation of problem-solvers and difference-makers, and position these innovators for long-term success in academics and in life. This is a unique opportunity to share with the students the importance of STEM and how we can play a vital along their journey. IEEE R5 Houston Section would love to partner with your organization to help the next generation of STEM Innovator's.

Region 5 was proud to be a part of this outstanding event! Director Matt Francis moderated a panel on federal teaming, and West Area Chair Faye Kann helped connect resources for SBIR with small businesses that attended. So excited to see this grow after the first event this last year in Little Rock, and the next Aerospace and Defense event in Huntsville, AL, as well as a pop up event in Arizona! IEEE Region 3
