Inspiritus recently had the privilege of welcoming the Global Refuge board of directors to Atlanta! Together, we hosted a fantastic welcome reception at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, surrounded by exhibits that highlight the ongoing fight for justice and equality. These compelling exhibits remind us of the extraordinary strength of the human spirit, and the essential need to stand against hatred and oppression. A heartfelt thank you to Carolina Ramos from the office of Mayor Andre Dickens for joining the festivities! #SurvivingToThriving

“For a decade Raga waited in the Zamzam camp in Darfur. For seven more years she waited with her husband in Jordan. They registered with the United Nations as refugees. In 2022, an agency called Inspiritus resettled the couple and their two young daughters in the U.S. A place called Alabama.” “With the help of a local resettlement agency, Inspiritus, the refugee couple secured a home and a few months of financial assistance. The nonprofit helped connect her to volunteers, and they grew into something like family, she says.” Through our Refugee and Immigrant Services program, Inspiritus is dedicated to helping individuals and families start anew here in the United States. Recently, one of our resettled families shared their inspiring story with Sarah M. from The Christian Science Monitor. Click on the image below to read the full article!
