I don't often post about myself, however, I was recently asked about my views on stepping outside your comfort zone and as I reflected on this it struck me that I have actually done this more times than I'd realised. Sometimes it was intentional. Other times it was in response to an opportunity that happened to come my way or a situation I had little choice but to front up to. Whatever the scenario, one thing was for sure, I learnt ALOT. About myself, my field of work, my team, my friends and family, my new country, my boundaries, my happiness and my fears. Fear is something I think often stops us from taking that leap, trying something new or taking a chance. Don't get me wrong, as a result of stepping out of my comfort zone I have made mistakes. And the learning continued. As did the confidence to not repeat these and to just keep going.
