CONGRATULATIONS 🏆 to the Jacksonville Transportation Authority's own Ari Jolly for being selected as the Outstanding Public Transportation Board Member of the Year by the American Public Transportation Association!! This national award honors an individual serving on the governing board of an APTA public transportation system member who has made outstanding contributions to the public transportation industry. Hundreds of applications were submitted throughout the United States and Canada for consideration in the various categories that also recognizes the outstanding systems, innovation projects, and outstanding public transportation managers. “It has been an honor to work with Ari Jolly over these years”, said JTA CEO Nat Ford. “Her unwavering dedication to this industry and the communities of Northeast Florida is a true example of board leadership and she has been essential in empowering the JTA to innovate and introduce transportation of the future to our communities. This award is very well deserved and the JTA is proud to have benefited from her leadership and expertise.” Ari Jolly has served on the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) Board of Directors for nine years. She has the distinction of serving for two consecutive terms, after being appointed first in 2015 and again in 2019. During that time, Director Jolly has earned the trust and respect of her peers as evidenced by being elected Secretary, Vice Chair, and subsequently Chair of the seven-member board in 2021 and 2022. “This award serves to recognize a transit board member that has made significant contributions to the public transportation industry through their service. There is no question, Ari Jolly’s service to public transit as a board member of both the JTA and APTA has been outstanding”, said Michele Wong-Krause, APTA Chair and Immediate Past Chair of Dallas Area Rapid Transit. Jolly has been a Transit Board Member (TBM) since 2015 and serves on APTA’s TMB Committee and its Executive Council. In the midst of her many demands as Senior Assistant General Counsel at Florida Blue, JTA Board member and community leader, Jolly makes it a priority to participate in APTA hosted panel discussions about important topics such as how to build support for local option gas taxes, best practices for Board and Transit Executive relations, and how to be an effective leader. The JTA is proud to have Ari Jolly serving the Northeast Florida community and on our Board of Directors. #publictransit #firstcoast

Mobility Solutions and Community Service Initiatives are a global challenge. Earlier this week the Jacksonville Transportation Authority had the honor of hosting a delegation from the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, South Africa, as part of Jacksonville's Sister Cities Association. It was a wonderful opportunity to engage with our peers from across the Atlantic and share the JTA's history of serving the #Jacksonville region and our vision to keep the First Coast #movingforward.

At the JTA, we make safety first, and make it last. The Jacksonville Transportation Authority currently has two Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certified instructors within our Safety & Security Team, Ben Bradley (in the photos below) and Michael Garland. This American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED training session consisted of a review and a hands-on skills demonstration for CEO Nat Ford and our Executive Leadership Team (ELT). Since January of this year, 36 employees have completed the First Aid/CPR/AED training and another six are pending completion of their second phase of training to be certified. #safetyfirst #movingforward
