The Kokosing Industrial management team recently took a trip up to Sault Ste. Marie, MI to meet with team members for the quarterly Crew Review meeting. The team discussed the importance of tracking processes, forecasting performance, and continuously improving the work cycle. On large projects like the New Lock at the Soo, organization is key! 🔑 Being able to have one on one time with management throughout our various geographic regions is valuable time to spend together. Our work on the New Castle WTP LT2 Improvements project is almost complete! 🎉 Since starting this project, we have completed the construction of the new 5th water filter building – which included the installation of new backwash pumps, to increase capacity to 8.4 MGD! Replacement of the existing motor control center to improve plant operations, which serves the entire plant besides the distribution center pump building. 👏 The improvements didn’t stop there, a new ultraviolet (UV) system and new emergency generator were installed as well. A huge shout out to our co-ops for completing their 2024 capstone project at the Ackerman Preserve in Fredericktown, Ohio! 👏 This project included co-ops from various departments getting involved with all stages of the construction process. Exciting news for the Olen Corporation! 📢 We have completed the in-house build of our new dewatering bucket and are now installing it at our St. Louisville, OH plant. With this expansion, production of sand and gravel will increase. Our expansion project has been taking place simultaneously with our normal plant production! We've hit a new milestone at our City of Lebanon solar installation, an active installation happening in Lebanon, Ohio! 👏 Once complete, 10 MW of solar capacity will span a total of three project sites. Installing solar panels, which in the industry we call "laying glass," happens surprisingly quickly compared to the groundwork and racking installation that serves as the foundation for the solar installation. ☀️ #Kokosing #KokosingSolar #Solar #LebanonOhio #LebanonSolarProject

Exciting progress on Project 4R/6R, part of the I-70/71 Downtown Ramp Up project in Columbus, OH! As Central Ohio's largest transportation investment on a single construction project, this transformative initiative is set to alleviate congestion and improve safety at one of the busiest interchanges. 👏 Here are some recent project highlights: 🔸On Phase 4R/6R, we are nearing completion of the towering flyover structure for the new I-71 southbound movement. 🔸Over 98% of drilled shafts completed & 3 million pounds of structural steel set this year! 🔸Major milestone: Eastbound traffic has switched to the newly constructed Ramps A5/C5/C6 on May 20th, paving the way for demolition to start on the “Big Build”. Kokosing is in the news! ENR featured the new metro park built along the Maumee River in Toledo, Ohio. Work on this project included updates to the seawalls and installation of two types of pavement blocks with stainless steel railing with integrated lighting for the pathways. 🚧 Another phase of this project was the construction of the Bend Bridge! This 300 ft. long, seven span spiral structure links the new Glass City Riverwalk Park to the existing International Park. Our summer interns recently toured multiple Kokosing projects around Ohio and were able to get a closer look into the construction industry. 👷 This opportunity lets them experience and see large-scale construction projects in person! A walk-through tour allows our interns to ask questions about the variety of jobs and learn what a day-to-day role could typically look like.
