Country music superstar Lainey Wilson traveled to New York City this week to unveil her much-anticipated clothing collaboration with Wrangler, bringing cowgirl cool to the Big Apple. “My parents had me in a pair of Wrangler’s before I could walk,” Wilson told NYFW press, regarding her lifelong connection to the brand. “When I put these clothes on, I feel like I am connected to my inner child, but I also feel like I can do anything I want to do.” “This was something for me to call home about,” she added with a laugh. “I called Daddy and I said, ‘We're going to be working with Wrangler!’ And he's like, ‘Oh shoot! She's really doing something!’” The collection, Wrangler’s largest collab to date, is the first artist co-created collection in a multi-year partnership between Wilson and Wrangler. The collection goes on sale as an exclusive preview for Wrangler Rewards members on 9/24, and to the general public on 9/25.

Five years ago, Kontoor employee Sande Taylor Pahl founded Book Buddies: a Title I school tutoring program for reading and math. This week, Book Buddies was recognized as Guildford County Schools’ Volunteers of the Month. What began as a program with 9 students grew to 37 students and undoubtedly has left a positive impact on the Greensboro community. We are proud of our employees for their hard work and dedication!

Building on the momentum of yesterday’s Q2 earnings call, in which Kontoor Brands raised its full year outlook, President, CEO and Chair of the Board Scott Baxter went on Bloomberg’s ‘The Close’ to explain how Kontoor is bucking the trend at a time of slumping retail stocks and consumer caution. “Our products are working in the marketplace,” Baxter said. “We have a really great product line that has really great value.” In addition to great value, Wrangler and Lee has an increasingly wide distribution across multiple channels in the U.S. and internationally, Baxter said. He added that the brands’ marketing, collaborations, and innovation are also strengthening Kontoor’s overall position with consumers. “For all those reasons, we’re really clicking with the consumer right now,” Baxter stressed. The Close’s co-host Romaine Bostick concluded the interview by recognizing Kontoor’s market performance as “one of the few bright spots” in a day when many stocks were down significantly. Today, Kontoor Brands announced its 2024 Q2 results and raised its full year outlook. Scott Baxter, President, Chief Executive Officer and Chair of Kontoor Brands, said: “We delivered second quarter results that exceeded our expectations driven by higher revenue, stronger gross margin expansion and cash flow generation. Our fundamentals continue to improve, providing us with significant optionality to drive long-term value while returning more than $100 million to shareholders year-to-date. We are carrying great momentum into the second half of the year and are raising our outlook, including the impact of additional demand creation investments that will support profitable growth for the balance of the year and beyond.” Read full release here: https://lnkd.in/egJW_G2k
