Fluent in Romanian and conversational in Spanish and Japanese, she brings a unique blend of linguistic skills to her role. A third degree black belt in Taekwondo, with 17 years of training, Crina approaches her work with the same dedication and discipline she applies to her martial arts. We had an amazing time at the Linguava Interpreter Academy’s first continuing education workshop this week! Interpreters from all over came together to dive into the world of Demand Control Schema (DCS) and left with a new way of framing challenging interpreting scenarios. DCS arms interpreters with a way to analyze and classify the varied demands that they face during assignments, then collaborate on identifying the “controls” or strategies they can use to mitigate those challenges. DCS is a cumulative process that asks interpreters to reflect on their lived experiences and prior training to reinforce best practices and ethical, effective decision making. One of the best parts of the workshop was the sense of community and collaboration. It was great to see everyone working together, exchanging ideas, and supporting each other. A big thank you to everyone who joined us and made the event such a success. Here’s to more learning, connecting, and making a positive impact in the communities we serve!
