Madewell wishes you a Happy Juneteenth and is proud to recognize Black history and heritage not only today, but every day 🖤.   For our associates we are honoring the Juneteenth holiday by highlighting Black voices and changemakers and creating opportunities for connection in partnership with our NOIR Associate Impact Group (AIG) with celebrations featuring treats from black owned businesses.    For more ways to honor and connect with the Black community on Juneteenth, we recommend following our partner Well-Read Black Girl, founded by Glory Edim as a platform to uplift Black storytellers. Edim has fostered a community where their voices are cherished and celebrated and for the third consecutive year, she worked with Madewell to curate a list of books that explore rich Black history and culture.   We are grateful for this holiday as a reflection and celebration of African American resilience and achievement while continuing to inspire efforts toward social justice and unity in the United States.   #Juneteenth #BlackHistory #TeamMadewell  

We’re wishing a Happy Father’s Day to all fathers and father figures 💙.   At Madewell we’re committed to creating a community where all associates feel seen and supported. We recognize that there are many paths to parenthood and provide inclusive benefits to support our associates as they grow their families.    We offer a wide range of benefits to support the transition to fatherhood—from our partnership with Progyny which includes fertility treatments, fertility preservation, and donor tissue, to surrogacy and adoption programs, and paid bonding leave. We are thrilled to welcome the Summer Internship class of 2024, joining us at our Home Office in New York City.   During their first week, the interns completed orientation where they learned about the product lifecycle, sustainability, and belonging and social impact at J.Crew. 🌈On Saturday in Boston, we continued our Madewell #PrideMonth celebrations by kicking off our new tradition—popping up in different cities nationwide to join our associates as they participate in local Pride Parades! Post-parade, we continued to spread the LOVE at our Copley Place store with treats and more! As May was Mental Health Awareness Month, here at Madewell we couldn’t think of a better way to promote the month than some organized exercise as a crew! We know that our mental health is heavily impacted by our physical well-being, and the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge 3.5-mile race was just what the doctor ordered!   Last week, we had over 100 associates join across our organization to run or walk the course through Central Park in matching shirts designed by our very own Elie R., Anni M., Danielle Evangelista. We turned up the stakes a bit with some healthy team competitions, celebrated each other crossing the finish line, and had the opportunity to gather together in post-race celebrations.   We look forward to continuing our focus on our mental and physical health year-round and already can’t wait for next year's race! #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #JPMCC #Madewell #GlobalRunningDay

In honor of May being Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Month, we partnered with Madewell APIDA associates to help share and provide some personal recommendations of theirs to help others honor their history.    These included what we could all Watch, Listen To, and Read as a company this month to honor and celebrate the rich culture of our APIDA associates and in turn we wanted to share some of those suggestions with our larger Madewell community—you!   #APIDA #HeritageMonth #TeamMadewell

Last week at our Madewell Headquarters in NYC, we had the opportunity to partner with BLOOMAGAINBKLYN, a fantastic non-profit that repurposes unsold or once-used flowers in support of reducing waste, social isolation and loneliness.   Our associates volunteered onsite and worked together to help refurbish these flowers into new arrangements, which BLOOMAGAINBKLYN distributed to homebound seniors, local nursing home residents, and others in need.   We are grateful for the opportunity to work with such an amazing organization and bring employees together to spark joy for our NYC community 💐.    #BloomAgainBklyn #Volunteer #GiveBack #MHAM #TeamMadewell

In honor of Jewish American Heritage Month, we wanted to take a moment to highlight and recognize the amazing contributions and goals of our Associate Impact Group (AIG) Shalom. Shalom’s mission is to ensure our community feels supported, recognized, and valued. Our AIG holds space in support of cultivating a community at Madewell where Jewish associates and allies can connect, celebrate, and explore Jewish culture and heritage. Through collaborative events, educational programs, and networking opportunities, our group is dedicated to enriching our workplace with the unique perspectives and contributions of the Jewish community.   We connected with our Executive Champion and Co-Leads Danielle Schmelkin, Shira (Wolkowicz) Blum, and Sydney S. to discuss their heritage and what this month and the Shalom AIG means to them.   #JewishAmericanHertiageMonth #ERG #TeamMadewell

Last month as a final homage to Earth Month, our Madewell associates had the opportunity to learn how recycling works at North America’s largest recycling center—Sunset Park Materials Recovery Facility. Our group was able to experience the state-of-the-art sorting process, viewed hundreds of tons of recyclables coming from all over NYC, and learned how SMR processes 1,000 tons of materials each day! By 2025, 100% of our packaging types will be sustainability sourced and free of virgin plastic. It was an inspiring day to learn about how NYC’s recycling efforts come to life, and how we can continue to do our part #EarthMonth #Recycling #Sustainability #TeamMadewell
