In 1999, MAG formed the Regional Domestic Violence Council, bringing together governments, law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, nonprofit groups and other community leaders working to prevent senseless deaths caused by domestic violence. Today, Regional Council leaders recognized the important work of the Regional Domestic Violence Council over the last 25 years by wearing purple and approving a resolution to honor the anniversary and to recognize October 2024 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 🔗 azmag.gov/DV #DomesticViolenceAwarenessMonth

#MAGregionHistory The construction of the Deck Park Dean Lindsey Memorial Tunnel was a massive project that began in 1983. It was part of the “final mile” of I-10 across the country and opened to traffic in August 1990. This summer, ADOT renamed the tunnel to honor former civil engineer Dean Lindsey for his contributions in shaping the Valley’s infrastructure. Dive into its history as we look back at the original construction. https://lnkd.in/gJ9twpFs Photos courtesy of ADOT archives.
