The MVA launches publicly tomorrow (09/26)! In advance of this exciting development, Jeanne Bourgault took to the stage with Hillary Clinton at Clinton Global Initiative 2024 Annual meeting to share this news - and outline the MVA's place within the media support sector as both a powerful media business analytics tool and a marketplace of ideas and solutions for independent media. The MVA achieving this significant milestone is testament to the trust of our expanding community of MVA platform users and the hard work of initiative leaders USAID, Democracy Forward at Microsoft, Internews, as well as our growing list of MVA partners; Associação de Jornalismo Digital - Ajor, Association of Independent Publishers, European Journalism Centre (EJC), Washington State University - Edward R. Murrow College of Communication, Free Press Unlimited, International Fund for Public Interest Media, IREX, Media and Journalism Research Center, National Endowment for Democracy, Panos Institute Southern Africa (PSAf), SembraMedia & Thomson Reuters Foundation. The MVA has been built for independent media, in direct consultation with independent media and media support organizations. It exists to support media viability, globally.
Yesterday during the Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting with Secretary Hillary Clinton, Internews President Jeanne Bourgault announced the release of the Media Viability Accelerator: an innovative, free, web-based platform designed to support local news outlets worldwide by enhancing their financial sustainability and resilience 💪🗞️ The MVA will help independent media globally by providing tools to measure success, benchmark performance, and access a wealth of ideas and support, especially in areas where press freedom is at risk. Over the next two years, the MVA aims to impact 2,000 media outlets, support tens of thousands of journalists, and reach hundreds of millions of people.
