MicroSurgical Technology (MST) Announces Commercialization of Vista 1-Step and Vista IS. Innovative Collaboration Set to Revolutionize Vitreous Removal Techniques for Anterior and Mid-Segment Surgery. Redmond, WA, 9/17/24 — Microsurgical Technology (MST), a global leader in advanced surgical solutions, is excited to announce a groundbreaking exclusive global partnership with Vista Ophthalmics (Houston, TX). This collaboration marks the debut of the Vista line of revolutionary products: the Vista 1-Step and Vista IS. The Vista 1-Step is a 27-gauge, 14.5mm needle-point vitrector designed for seamless introduction through the sclera without the need for MVR blades or trocars. Featuring a dual blade cutter, it delivers up to 11,000 cuts per minute. Complementing this is the Vista IS, an innovative anterior chamber maintainer that enhances infusion during vitreous removal, improving overall surgical efficiency. MST has a storied history of partnering with surgeons to drive ophthalmic innovation and address clinical challenges. Founded by ophthalmologist Dr. Jeff Whitsett, Vista Ophthalmics shares MST’s commitment to surgeon-inspired solutions that add value in the operating room. Dr. Whitsett remarked, “MST was our first choice for partner. They have a great reputation and strong history of supporting surgeons and making excellent products, of which I use in my operating room.” Yash Singh, CEO and President of MST, added, “We are thrilled to join forces with Vista Ophthalmics as their exclusive global partner. This collaboration enhances our portfolio with cutting-edge, surgeon-inspired products that we believe will significantly benefit our surgical community.” MST will introduce the Vista line of products to the U.S. market at the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) conference this October, with plans for an international launch in the following months. Erik Bror Bonn, Chief Business Development Officer at MST, commented, “We are incredibly excited to launch the Vista line of products. Their innovative designs bring simplicity to the operating room and have real potential to elevate patient care. The Vista line is a welcome addition to our complex anterior segment portfolio for its application in pars plana vitrectomy and we are optimistic about the potential for limited vitreous removal in emerging treatment applications.” Commented Erik Bror Bonn, Chief Business Development Officer for MST. Additionally, MST is pleased to announce the addition of Don Knowles, Vista Partner and Head of Sales and Product Development, to their team. Bonn noted, “Don’s extensive experience and deep industry relationships will be invaluable as we advance this project and others. His expertise will be a significant asset to our team.” “This partnership represents a new chapter for MST as we continue to enhance our portfolio with meaningful technologies that better support our customers,” Bonn concluded.
