About us

Independent Healthcare Properties (IHP), LLC, a Chattanooga, TN.-based senior healthcare services company, develops, owns and manages over 32 Morning Pointe® Assisted Living, Personal Care and The Lantern Alzheimer’s Memory Care Center of Excellence communities in five southeastern states including Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky and Indiana. It was founded in 1996 by Tennessee healthcare entrepreneurs, Greg A. Vital and Franklin Farrow. We provide services in a comfortable home-like environment with the benefit of having nursing care available when needed. • Individual care plans are coordinated by licensed nurses and with healthcare providers in order to maintain an optimized healthcare management plan. These plans are drafted, programmed and reviewed regularly allowing staff to meet the ever changing needs of the resident.  Licensed nurses provide oversight of health, wellness and medication administration while licensed clinical staff are available 24 hours a day. Transportation to doctor appointments is also offered. • On-Site Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy Services are available through both an outpatient clinic and home health aimed at keeping residents independent longer. • Restaurant-style dining can be found in a central dining room offering three delicious meals per day, regular alternate selections and dietician oversight. • An Active Senior Social calendar keeps residents engaged with the greater community and includes intergenerational programming, service projects and regular weekly outings. • Additional services and amenities include, but are not limited to: a 24-hour emergency response system, housekeeping and linen services, barber and beauty shop covered porches, courtyards and walking areas.

  • We had a fantastic and energetic Morning Pointe Foundation Seniors Got Talent show in Chattanooga, TN, last night! 🌟 With more than 400 attendees and 12 acts of seniors ages 60-93, the event raised awareness of the amazing talents of older adults… and raised $33,000 for the Morning Pointe Foundation! 🤩 🥇Taking home the 1st place grand prize of $1,000 was singer Susan Taylor, 63! She blew away the judges and the audience with her soulful performance of “Try a Little Tenderness.” 🥈The 2nd place prize of $500 went to ballroom dancer couple Richard and Laurie Collett, ages 76 and 71, for their routine to an adapted version of “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” 🥉3rd place and $250 went to 87-year-old Agene Parsons, who joyfully performed “Steel Guitar Rag” on the hammered dulcimer. Lastly, audience members cast votes for their favorite performers at $1 per vote for the Foundation. The People’s Choice Award went to 60-year-old Bryan Skinner for his comical lip synch to “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da.” 😂 Thank you to everyone who made this event special and successful! From our amazing acts and supportive sponsors to our enthusiastic audience, it was a fantastic night for the Morning Pointe Foundation! #SeniorsGotTalent #AgeIsJustANumber #MorningPointeFoundation

  • Meet Monika Lumsdaine, one of our incredible residents at Morning Pointe of Knoxville Assisted Living (TN)! 💗 Monika was born in Switzerland and came to the US as an exchange student. She fell in love with and married a Chinese-American man named Edward, and they were a true team, supporting each other's education and careers. He was an engineer, she a mathematician. ➕ She designed solar homes, including their own solar home in Knoxville that was featured during the 1982 World's Fair. 🏡 But this only scratches the surface of her amazing life... 📖 Read more about Monika in our latest blog here: https://ow.ly/wbii50SL8L9 #ResidentSpotlight #Mathematician #Switzerland #SolarHomes

  • Did you catch the one and only Corkey Miller on America's Got Talent?! We did! 🤩 We are so proud of Corkey and delighted that the AGT showrunners discovered her through her win at the 2023 Morning Pointe Foundation's Seniors Got Talent Knoxville show. It just goes to show you never know what can happen at SGT! 📺 You can watch her comedy sketch 😂 and the judges' responses in the video below. We had the chance to talk with Corkey herself, and here is what she had to say about her experience, "I keep pinching myself," said Miller, age 63. "There was so much talent there, and I kept telling myself, 'How's this little old lady going to compete with any of that?' I feel like I won the lottery, and I've never won anything in my entire life except for a Chad Atkins record when I was in the third grade." Miller added to the Foundation, "Thank you for giving me the start that I needed, the courage to go forward. Everybody has a hidden dream that we had when we were a kid, and then we grow up, and we get in the real world and our job and our families and all that, and we suppress that dream because it doesn't seem like the mature thing to do. I'm saying, 'Heck with maturity - go for the dream!' It's not too late." 👀 We can't wait to see what happens as the show progresses! 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eGCvBAY5
