  • KATC TV was out with us on a recent installation of Natrx ExoForms™ to help build back a healthy and vibrant food chain at a popular, South Louisiana fishing location. Our ExoForms are at the center of this habitat restoration project. ExoForms provide a stable and naturalistic surface for base marine organisms to attach to and make home, helping restore the lost food chain from the bottom up. Healthy natural systems are resilient systems that provide a whole list of ecological benefits including cleaner water, increased biodiversity, and increased storm resilience. Have a look at our ExoForms doing their thing. They're dissipating erosion-causing wave energy along this coastline PLUS they've become home to all kinds of marine critters which, in turn, are cleaning the water and providing a food source for the larger animals in the area. That's a healthy ecosystem providing nature-based resilience and restoration. That's Natrx Adaptive Infrastructure in action! Happy Friday!

Today, I got a chance to go to Pointe-Aux-Chenes for Leadership Terrebonne’s Environmental Day, where we planted marsh grass around newly installed “Cajun Coral”, which hopes to protect against coastal erosion and storm surge. This is part of a levee project underway around this coastal community that was devastated by Hurricane Ida’s winds. Exciting fact: this cajun coral was just installed in March, and these nature-based wetland protection is already creating a “living shoreline.” Crabs and oysters have started to move into this new habitat. This type of nature-based climate resilience from NATRX is exactly what we need more of in Louisiana! In addition, I was able to speak to this group of community leaders about the upcoming Atlantic hurricane season at the Montegut Fire Station. So glad I got to take a trip down the bayou for this impactful day!

  • YES! Take a look at the awesome, adaptive power of nature in action! In less than 12 months, a Natrx ExoForm™-based, wetland protection project we installed along Hog Island in Virginia is already demonstrating some pretty incredible natural system growth. Our 972 feet of stackable ExoForms are biocemented together by thriving new oyster growth, further increasing the solution's strength, and demonstrating the applicability of our ExoForm solutions in higher energy environments. The natural systems that make our adaptive infrastructure solution home here will protect the residential and commercial properties in the area, enhance habitat for shorebirds, oysters and other marine life, and reduce erosion and sedimentation in the Chesapeake Bay - all with a fraction of the material used in traditional solutions thanks to the adaptive power of NATURE. A case study on this project is here: https://hubs.ly/Q02yRbVv0 And you can learn more about our ExoForm solutions here: https://hubs.ly/Q02yRfvV0

  • We're extremely grateful and proud to have been included in this recent article from Impact Entrepreneur about the role new technologies will play in the resilience and restoration of marine and coastal systems. The article does a great job of providing an overview of the challenges we face as well as introducing a wide range of technology practitioners (us included) who are working on turning the tide for these critical ecosystems.
