Swing sets, glider chairs, and picnic tables, oh my! We volunteered at the Children’s Home to build these outdoor items and donated $5,000 to make it all happen. We are proud to help The Children's Home inspire hope, develop skills and cultivate healthy relationships for positive futures.

On this day, the 80th anniversary of D-Day, we remember the courage and sacrifice of the service members who fought on the beaches of Normandy. Read the blog post below from one of our AVAN-Veterans reflecting on this historic day: “An impossible task” The 80th anniversary of D-Day serves as a poignant reminder of the immense courage and sacrifice displayed by the service members who participated in this historic event. On June 6, 1944, 7,000 vessels carried 160,000 service members from eight allied countries to the beaches of Normandy, facing insurmountable odds to liberate a continent and safeguard freedom. President Roosevelt’s solemn prayer resonated with a nation on the brink of uncertainty. The world was at war, with Hitler’s grip on Europe tightening. Yet, hope emerged as those vessels landed on the shores of Normandy. The fate of the free world rested on the shoulders of those brave souls who embarked on a “mighty endeavor” to set humanity free. Marines, Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Coast Guardsmen demonstrated unwavering bravery, pushing back against formidable resistance. The Atlantic Wall, fortified by the Nazi forces who knew those forces where enroute, stood as a formidable obstacle—dangerous cliffs, rocky coastlines, landmines, machine gunners, and bunkers had be fortified and reenforced. Over 2,500 Americans made the ultimate sacrifice, their lives a testament to the righteous cause of freedom. Today, we honor their memory and recognize that freedom is never free. It has been earned through the unwavering commitment and sacrifices of those who have fought for it, and those who will continue too. Let us remember their bravery and continue to cherish the ideals they defended.
