ODMHSAS Senior Director of Communications, Kelsey Davis, was invited to speak at Syracuse University’s “Mental Health & Wellness” panel during CBT Weekend, hosted by the Office of Multicultural Advancement for over 1500 alumni. The panel covered important topics like mental health, breaking stigma, and promoting life-saving resources such as the 988 Mental Health Lifeline, Naloxone, and Fentanyl testing strips—critical tools that save lives across the nation. These resources are vital for everyone to know, whether you OR a loved one is facing a mental health or substance misuse challenge. #ServicesWithinReach

Keep an eye out and an ear open for the older Oklahomans in your life. Even small changes in behavior could be a sign of a deeper struggle. Your attention and care could save a life. Learn more about the risk factors and find conversation starters in the Older Oklahomans Toolkit at https://bit.ly/3Xpmuxe. Let’s stay connected and protect our community. 🫶 #SuicidePreventionMonth

⚠️ Important update regarding harm reduction vending machines! We are shifting our strategy to reduce overdoses in the state. "By adopting this revised strategy, we aim to provide a more effective and efficient experience for everyone involved," said Andrea Hamor-Edmondson, Senior Prevention Program Manager. "This transition will allow us to conserve resources and reinvest them into our agency’s strategic initiatives, ensuring we continue to deliver high-quality services to those in need." Naloxone and fentanyl test strips will still be available for free through our mail out program at okimready.org/overdose and at Certified Community Behavioral Health Centers (CCBHCs), hospitals, the Department of Corrections, and the Office of Juvenile Affairs. Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services reposted this
Been held up and held together by some incredible people the last 7 months in this role. Just a small sample of the inspiring and dedicated colleagues that keep me going on this mission to drive change and transform our mental health system so all 4 million Oklahomans have access to the care they need and deserve. This work is hard and not for the faint of heart, but lives are at stake and we won’t stop. Together, we are committed to making a difference for children, youth, and families who have experienced trauma. This collaboration is more than just a partnership—it's a shared mission to build a #CommunityOfChange
