Congratulations to Ray Frost and Thomas Lechner MSc PhD, who were recently awarded ONO PHARMA USA’s President’s Award! Their respective teams, Market Access and Medical Affairs, worked together with the CDC to create an International Classification of Diseases (ICD) code for primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL). ICD is a system to classify and code diagnoses, symptoms, and procedures. Why was this an important undertaking? In a word: Patients. Patients are important and central to our mission. An ICD code for PCNSL is critical for reimbursement and access purposes. Our employees realized a new code was needed and worked with the CDC to make it happen. Team ONO is breaking barriers in medicine!     We are thrilled to share that our Associate Medical Director, Dr. Aditi Korlimarla, has been recognized as one of the 2024 Rising Star Women of Medicine by Women We Admire.      Dr. Korlimarla's journey from the Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences and Asian Heart Institute in India to Duke University's Center of Excellence in Rare Diseases has given her diverse clinical knowledge, and prolific research experience across neurology, pediatrics, and rare diseases.      “Leading with kindness is essential to drive innovation, accelerate drug development, and improve the lives of patients. I envision to bridge the gap between research innovations and unmet needs in healthcare. Take a look at our recent team-building activity – the egg drop challenge!       The goal of the challenge is to build a contraption to keep an egg safe while it falls. Using supplies from around the office, ONO teams worked together to design and build a container that protected their egg from a 10-foot drop.       Why did we spend our time doing something like this?       Because building a team that’s willing to come together and explore is part of sparking innovation. And innovation is key to ONO’s mission.      A big congrats to the winning teams that were able to keep their egg intact. Keep innovating!     #ONOPHARMAUSA

We were thrilled to welcome a special visitor to ONO PHARMA USA recently!  Toichi Takino, Ph.D., Representative Director, President and COO of ONO Pharmaceutical in Japan, was in town and came by our Cambridge office to talk about his career path at ONO with U.S. employees. We enjoyed the time we got to spend with Mr. Takino, discussing ONO’s mission and the great things that are in store. Looking forward to the next trip!
