This is to thank all so far in the journey and ones to join in future alongside in the journey. Laser Focus World , is a publication since 1965 focused only on optics, photonics and optoelectronics. Being covered means not only celebration but a responsibility to deliver, which is why we in Motion Imager wake up to. The article is also being further outreached by Optica's linkedin handle.
Motion Imager got covered in Laser Focus World magazine. This is an outcome of an interview with our Founder Apu Saha sometime early this year, which the author Jose Pozo decided to give it a format of an article and publish it in a reputed publication Laser focus world. Thanks for the captivating and succinct narration of Motion Imager’s journey and explaining in your own words the company’s product capability and what it took to build so far… and more. Jose Pozo is at the forefront of cutting-edge technology research and engineering work being done across the academics and companies around the world in the field of optics and photonics. Such exposure also enables a person to understand the limitations and gap in existing technology and product in the market resulting to unsolved problems existing and commercialization potential of new tech. Another strong asseveration and appraisal in Motion Imager’s journey put publicly. That you found our work differentiating and original to be authored and published in Laser Focus World, means a lot to us. #Photon #Digitaltwin #NonRigidMechanics #material #multiscale #computational #Camera #DeepLearning #AISemiconductor #industrialtech https://lnkd.in/eiqthppF

Senior Climate & Environmental Scientist at USRA; Adjunct Professor at UMD; Co-chair for GEMM initiative by Optica and AGU
Do you remember what we discussed at #GEMM sessions at Optica sensing and imaging conference a few weeks back in #Toulouse? #EO data is not just only from #satellites, but coming from a wide variety of #sensors and #technologies, such as yours! Here Yana Gevorgyan from Group on Earth Observations (GEO) also summarizes it beautifully. #GEO #climate #environment #measurement #monitoring #earthobservation #sensing #imaging #application #action #data #community #sustainability #waterpollution #airquality #GHG #solution #global #local #OpticaSensing24 #OpticaImaging24
It’s vital to make Earth observation data widely accessible, says Yana Gevorgyan Earth observation could add $3.8 trillion to global GDP by the end of the decade. LITHUANIAN PHOTONICS: LASERS GO STRONG Lithuania's photonics sector consistently demonstrates a global impact. Despite its relatively small size, the country stands as a global leader in scientific and industrial laser technologies, exporting solutions to over 80 countries and collaborating with prestigious institutions like NASA and CERN. 🌍 The laser sector in Lithuania continues to experience healthy growth, with an impressive annual turnover of €254 million and a compound annual growth rate of over 16.2%, significantly outpacing the European industry average. This robust growth can be attributed to Lithuania's close-knit laser community, largely powered by Vilnius University’s Physics Faculty, regularly spinning out innovative laser and optics startups, and strong connections between the 60+ local companies and academia. 🚀 One of the newer additions to this thriving sector is Optica Corporate Member Litilit. Litilit's ultrafast laser technology utilizes a patented laser pulse generator—a passive self-starting femtosecond fiber seeder that is free of consumable components like SESAM. The all-fiber design ensures high environmental stability, protecting against vibrations and thermal fluctuations, which makes them exceptionally long-lasting and reliable—key attributes for applications in telecom. But let’s look beyond - let’s talk laser micromachining, display manufacturing, and medical applications. 🏥💡 The future of Lithuanian lasers looks bright, with ongoing efforts to integrate these technologies into emerging value chains, such as microLED display manufacturing. 🔮 (will be reported soon - stay tuned!) A special thank you to Nick Gavril for hosting me! Learn more about how Lithuanian photonics companies are advancing global standards in optical testing and reliability. https://lnkd.in/dhdBGGQj The next event of the Lithuanian Laser Association is on August 23/24th 2024 and my colleague Helena Diez-y-Riega will be attending.

An Optics Express [#OPG_OpEx] Editors’ Pick demonstrates the acceleration of electrons at a dielectric structure using mid-infrared light: https://bit.ly/4dtRX7G Mid-infrared DLA lies in a yet unexplored wavelength and structure size regime between the established schemes of near-infrared DLA and Terahertz acceleration. To close the knowledge gap, the FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg team developed a scheme with a larger structure acceptance that bodes well for future dielectric laser accelerators driven with mid-infrared light.
