For small companies trading in cocoa, coffee, and other tropical commodities, meeting the new European Union Deforestation Regulation requirements may be difficult. The EUDR, which goes into effect at the end of this year, will help reduce global deforestation but will require businesses and farmers to provide clear supply chain tracking. In response, Palladium's Regeneration has launched a technical assistance facility to support cocoa and coffee supply chain actors to meet those regulations. Interested? Apply today! https://ow.ly/cQn550SRgMZ #EUDR | #Regeneration | #GlobalDeforestation

Mango farmers in Odisha, India contribute over $250M annually to the country's economy, yet the small farm operations often struggle to reach a global market. Thanks to a new government-funded project supported by Palladium, farmers are receiving end-to-end support, from production to the final marketing of their mangoes. It's allowing them to tap into larger markets from Italy to Dubai and increase the prices for farmers by as much as 40%. Last month, we celebrated one year since the launch of the UK Refugee Employment Programme (REP) with an event in our Southampton office. In its first year, REP has supported 600 refugees, taught 320+ hours of English for Speakers of Other Languages, and delivered over 1000 interventions in areas like helping refugees find sustainable employment and educational courses benefitting individuals and families. The event was a testament to the success the program has seen in just a year, but also a celebration of the many partnerships across the region that have ensured those successes. https://ow.ly/faii50SOgHx #Refugee | #REP | #Employment | #RefugeeEmployment | #RefugeeEmployabilityProgramme

Last month, our Nairobi office partnered up with Ministry of Health, Medics for Kenya, the Kenya Tissue and Transplant Authority, the Kenyan by Blood Foundation, and the Kenya Red Cross to host a blood drive within their office park. The drive brought together members of the public, along with other local businesses and collected 71 pints of blood, going well beyond the 50 pint target. We love to see our offices in action, especially when they focus in on their local communities! #Kenya | #MinistryofHealth | #KenyaRedCross

“For the event, we gathered a group of experts to have a series of conversations focused on finding solutions and progressing three priority areas for driving the nature market forward,” reflects Palladium Director of Climate Finance, Elmedina Krilasevic on the recent bi-annual meeting of the Coalition for Private Investment in Conservation (CPIC). The event, which was held in Palladium's new London offices, offered an opportunity for leading nature investors and conservation organisations to discuss nature finance, biodiversity credits, business models, and scaling up private finance for nature. Who is the development professional of the future? Our co-CEO Sinead Magill has been looking around at Palladium's global offices and reflecting on how much the sector has changed - for the better - since she began her career. "If we’re going to address today’s challenges and those of our quickly approaching future, we’ll need development professionals who are equipped to do so," she says, "not just by their education, but by their experiences, their diverse perspectives, and perhaps above all, their bravery." Global health security is at the heart of mitigating the impacts of current global health issues while preparing for those to come. When global health security is done right, it means there are strong systems and frameworks in place to prevent and respond to global health threats—threats such as the COVID-19 pandemic, tuberculosis, and HIV/AIDS. As our teams attend the International AIDS Conference in Munich this week to discuss global health security in the context of the fight against HIV/AIDS, we invite you to explore the latest edition of The Catalyst Special Report: Global Health Security. https://ow.ly/25lf50SInNK #AIDS2024 | #GlobalHealth | #HealthSecurity
