We are ecstatic about our second Leapfrog "A" rating in a row! This coveted rating from The Leapfrog Group means that we are providing excellent patient safety and quality - and we are so proud of that! All of our team members and medical staff have contributed to this honor, and we thank each and every one of them for attaining this achievement. Let's move forward to number 3!

September is Healthy Aging Month and there is so much you can do to keep healthy even in the 'golden years'. It may take some effort, but you're worth it!

During Rehab Week, it appears we were taking advantage of the last vestiges of summer by having a lot of ice cream at our fingertips (and probably licking ice cream off of our fingers too)! Marky's Ice Cream truck arrived and delivered some delicious treats that we purchased and enjoyed! Stroke Walk Team, "Walkaholics", will receive 20% of the proceeds from this event that will in turn be donated to the American Heart Association! Now that's a delicious fundraiser!

We had a wonderful, busy time during Rehab Week, and it wouldn't have been possible without the Rehab Teams from both our inpatient unit - The Rehabilitation Institute - and our outpatient clinic - The Rehabilitation and Orthopedic Institute! These team members rock it every day by changing lives, giving heartfelt therapy and contributing to the health and wellbeing of so many. We started this entire Rehab Celebration Week off with an amazing breakfast provided by the Ellison John Transitional Care Center! We want to thank them for their generosity and also want to thank everyone for supporting us this week and our rehabilitation programs at Palmdale Regional Medical Center! Rehab rocks!

The Rehab Fair was a great success, and we learned a lot about rehabilitation! We didn't just have a Salsa Showdown without voting on the winners, so congratulations to our feisty salsa winners! 1st place went to Kara in Pharmacy where she picked up a $50 Visa gift card! 2nd place went to Kristal, RN, ICU who received a $25 Target gift card! 3rd place went to Mary, Nursing Supervisor, Rehab where she was awarded a $25 Starbucks gift card! As part of our continuing Rehab Week fun, we had an Ice Cream Social! This event was sponsored by Blue Sky Home Health Care and Traditions Health.
