Yesterday marked Dr. Ethan Lenker's last day serving as our Superintendent. Dr. Lenker's leadership, dedication, and genuine care for our students, staff, and community have shaped Pitt County Schools in countless ways. His vision and passion have touched every corner of our district, creating a lasting impact that will be felt for years to come.
Dr. Lenker, you've been more than a leader – you've been a friend, a mentor, and a source of inspiration. Thank you for your years of hard work, your unwavering support, and your commitment to making our schools a better place for everyone.
A LETTER FROM DR. LENKER for our community:
"The most energizing, inspirational and rewarding part of my job as Pitt County Schools Superintendent was the opportunity to work closely with so many extraordinary and talented students, teachers, principals, staff and members of this outstanding community.
As we reach the end of the month and my tenure here, I cherish the opportunity to both reflect on our 11 years together and offer my personal gratitude for all your hard work and selfless devotion on behalf of our district. Realizing that our daily interaction has ultimately reached a conclusion perhaps makes it the most difficult part of closing this particular chapter of my life. I will truly miss my days as superintendent of PCS.
I would like to thank the Board of Education for the trust they placed in me to lead Pitt County Schools, and I am confident in the ability of the team that is in place to move our district to an even higher level.
Again, thank you for your support and the kind words you have shared with Alice and me. Best wishes, Ethan."
