🔦 Spotlight on Leadership: Paul Hance Welcoming Our New Chief Actuary and Chief Risk Officer We are pleased to welcome Paul Hance to Prosperity Life, our new Chief Actuary and Chief Risk Officer. Paul brings a wealth of experience in actuarial science, financial leadership, and a proven track record of driving substantial growth. 📈 Paul's Career Journey Throughout his career, Paul has consistently sought out challenging roles that demand not only expertise but also a forward-thinking approach. At Transamerica, he led the consolidation of seven business units, streamlining operations and building a precedent for efficiency and excellence. His tenure at Equitable saw him transform the actuarial function into a standalone entity, navigating the complexities of the post-IPO landscape and safeguarding the company against financial risks during the pandemic. Paul joined Pacific Life to co-found their Institutional Division, where he led the growth of the PRT and Stable Value businesses, and created the in-plan annuity and HSA businesses. His key initiatives included leading the successful administrative system conversion for PRT and Stable Value, and leading the creation of a new product line for HSAs. He most recently served as the CFO of the Institutional Division, where he saw the division reach their aspirational goals to triple income and double AUM two years ahead of schedule. His accomplishments reflect a deep commitment to fostering growth and operational excellence, qualities that align well with Prosperity. 💼 Joining Prosperity Paul joins us at a pivotal time, attracted by the prospect of driving growth quickly while also building foundational capabilities that will propel sustainable success. 🏃♀️ Last week, Prosperity Life celebrated International Women's Day with a Virtual 5K Run, an event designed to promote well-being and pay tribute to the achievements and contributions of women everywhere. We created the Virtual 5K to foster connection among our team members, many of whom are remote workers. Colleagues, friends, and family members were invited to take part in a shared activity, regardless of their location, while honoring the spirit of International Women's Day. Participants completed the run at their own pace and in their own space, yet were united by a common purpose. 🏅 While it was only 50 years ago that women were first eligible to compete in marathons, we had quite a few marathon runners, including one woman who is a marathon pacer! Thank you to everyone who joined us. 🔦 Spotlight on Leadership: Meet Sacha Adams At Prosperity Life, we recognize the power of inclusive leadership. In line with this commitment, we're excited to highlight one of our key leaders, Sacha Adams. 📈 Sacha's Background Sacha’s first exposure to accounting began during her childhood years in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Growing up, she was closely involved with her grandparents’ business, helping with basic bookkeeping and reconciling accounts throughout her summer breaks. This early experience led to her decision to pursue accounting during her college years. While studying at CUNY – Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn, Sacha was involved in many programs and associations focusing on accounting, taxation, and community engagement. A chief example of this was her role leading the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program (a program focused on filing tax returns for individuals who are low-income, senior citizens, disabled, or non-native English speakers). She corralled a record number of her college peers to assist with this initiative. 🏢 The Career Journey After college, Sacha landed at New York Life as a junior accountant. She was excited about this new role – it allowed her to dig into the complexities of GAAP and STAT accounting and climb the ranks early on while balancing life as a new mom. During her time there, New York Life provided her with diverse and challenging roles. After working in other STAT accounting roles at smaller organizations, including returning for some time to New York Life, she was ready for her next step. 💼 Prosperity Life: A New Chapter Sacha joined Prosperity Life almost two years ago, growing into her current position as Assistant Vice President of Statutory Reporting. Here, she is known for her inclusive approach to decision making, staying connected and sharing information. She believes in the power of collective growth and encourages her team to share knowledge and perspectives. Sacha’s personal philosophy (an African proverb) – “If you want to go fast, go alone. He firmly believes that while no job can be perfect in every aspect, finding meaning and joy in a significant part of it is essential. And if there's a mismatch? 🏫 Prosperity Life is proud to partner with Cristo Rey New York High School, a place for rigorous college-prep academics combined with real work experience, for students from resource-limited backgrounds. 🤝 Through this partnership, we welcome two students to our office, three times a week, to help with general tasks. They greet visitors at reception, help us collect data on the use of our flexible work spaces, and they can meet with colleagues who work in the subject areas they are considering for college study.  📝 Prosperity colleagues also have opportunities throughout the year to volunteer at Cristo Rey. In a recent seminar, we assisted rising seniors with their college admissions essays. 🚀 This initiative is more than work experience; it’s about empowering students with knowledge, confidence, and a vision of what’s possible. We’re honored to be a steppingstone in their journey to become the leaders of tomorrow. 

🔦 Spotlight on Leadership: Meet Kristin Gemski At Prosperity Life, we actively invite diverse views and perspectives, and value unique experiences, where everyone feels that they belong and contribute. Today we shine a spotlight on one of our key leaders who embodies this value: Kristin Gemski, VP & Deputy General Counsel   📈 Background & Journey   Kristin started her career working in a law firm, building a client book and keeping track of billable hours. She quickly discovered her preference for working in-house after joining AIG, and then AXA Equitable. “It’s one thing to understand how the law affects business and advise as outside counsel, but it’s not the same as being in a business, working to achieve goals. Being in-house means we build something together - that’s what I find really exciting.”   💡 New ideas Kristin finds that introducing a fresh perspective, or a hint of healthy disruption, serves as a spark for innovation. After just seven months with Prosperity, she says, “I get to be more than a lawyer here. It doesn’t matter who comes up with the next great idea, because we all have the same goal: to build the best version of this company.”   She also feels our leadership exudes both confidence in their expertise and appreciation for the knowledge and insights of others. “At Prosperity, every voice carries weight. Whether you’re a seasoned expert or new to insurance, your insights and ideas are valued.” 🗺 How to thrive at Prosperity   When asked what it takes to thrive at Prosperity, Kristin starts with entrepreneurial spirit. “An individual must embody decisiveness, accountability, and an open mind. 🏔 Last week, Prosperity Life held our Finance Team Summit in Charlotte. The meeting facilitated discussions on our business, our strategy, and the future of our industry. Highlights included: ✅ Q&A with CEO Nicholas von Moltke ✅ Insights from our product distribution leaders: Dan Farrelly, Jack Heller, and Gregory Galdau. ✅An update on the future of finance, courtesy of PwC ✅Personal development sessions focusing on individual strengths and emotional intelligence.   The team also had the chance to check out our new Touch-Down space🛬, the local co-working suite available for our Charlotte-area colleagues who are usually remote but want the option to work from an office.   Beyond the formal agenda, the team bonded over some unique experiences: 🏃♀️ An (optional, yet) invigorating informal 5k run to kickstart Wednesday morning. 🏎 Team-building at the NASCAR Hall of Fame. 🪓  An exciting evening of axe-throwing, where CFO Zac Jones showcased his precision with a bullseye! 🎯   At the conclusion of the event, CFO Zachary Jones said, "Coming together as a team outside the office not only strengthens our professional bonds but also ignites our collective passion for Prosperity Life's mission. And I think Axe throwing taught us that with support from your team, determination, and precision, we can hit any target."
