Related Argent’s Brent Cross Town was awarded £14 million in funding from The Government’s Green Heat Network Fund (GHNF), which will help the mixed-use neighborhood achieve its goal of becoming net zero by 2030. The funding will go towards the neighborhood's district heating network, which will generate low carbon heat for Brent Cross Town's 6,700 residences, offices and leisure buildings. Once complete, Brent Cross Town will utilize one of Europe's largest fully electric energy centers, which is being developed in partnership with Vattenfall. https://lnkd.in/eiPdcSwy

Last Wednesday, our Related California colleagues volunteered at a beach cleanup event in Newport Beach, CA. Thank you to everyone who joined!

Earlier this week, Related Beal organized the 2nd annual Related Beal Charity Golf Tournament, which benefitted nonprofit Martin Richard Foundation and its mission to spread peace and promote philanthropic work in Boston and beyond. The tournament focused on team building and giving back to the community, featuring more than 30 participating teams and made possible by 29 sustaining sponsors and over 20 volunteers.

Related Argent has announced The Jellicoe, a destination workspace opening this fall within the heart of London’s Kings Cross neighborhood. Developed by the King’s Cross Central Limited Partnership in collaboration with Fora, The Jellicoe will offer 12 floors of premium office space designed for high performance and sustainability.

Last Friday, Related Beal partnered with Save the Harbor/Save the Bay to host its annual Beats on the Beach Block Party at Channelside, the mixed-use destination coming soon to Boston's Fort Point neighborhood. As summer nears its close, Related Companies said thank you and farewell to our 2024 class of summer interns. We were pleased to have 36 summer interns this year across four cities, who came from superb schools ranging from Columbia, NYU, Fordham, and Stony Brook here in New York, to Stanford, MIT, University of Michigan (Go Blue!), Northwestern and even as far away as the University of St Andrews. For ten weeks, they fully immersed themselves within our teams across development, construction, affordable and market-rate housing, architecture and design, marketing, and finance. Like many of our executives, I had a chance to spend substantive (and fun) time with this smart and entrepreneurial group of students, and I fully expect we’ll be welcoming a couple of them to join the Related team when they have concluded their studies. But I want to share the broader message that I gave these students as they begin their job search and asked how to think about the early part of their careers. There is so much pressure for students coming out of school today to land at the biggest name companies. But I truly believe the most important consideration when you are starting your career is the quality and expertise of the person you are going to work under each day. That’s the person that’s going to teach you and mentor you.

Related Argent is pleased to welcome Fusion Group and Cheyne Capital back to Brent Cross Town to deliver their second purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) building in the new park town for London. The £275m development, located minutes from Claremont Park and close to Brent Cross West mainline station, will deliver approximately 650 student beds and an array of associated amenities. Designed by PRP, the new development contributes to the vibrant, multi-generational mix at Brent Cross Town, the 180-acre mixed-use park town being delivered by Related Argent and Barnet Council that brings together co-living, student homes, rental, for-sale and affordable homes, alongside a new high street, 50 acres of parks and playing fields and workspace for 25,000 people.

Last Tuesday, employees from several Hudson Yards-based companies took to the pickleball courts in the Public Square of Hudson Yards New York for a unique tournament, supporting the West Side Community Fund.

In early August, Related Affordable’s San Francisco teams hosted events to celebrate National Night Out—an annual community-building campaign held on the first Tuesday of August to strengthen neighborhood bonds. A highlight of the event was the backpack giveaway, where 414 backpacks filled with school supplies were distributed. Kids also enjoyed activities like face painting, jewelry-making, a bounce house, and treats from cotton candy and popcorn machines.
