Today, Opportunity Insights released new research showing how economic mobility has changed by parent income, race, and gender across counties in America, analyzing data on 57 million children born between 1978 and 1992. https://shorturl.at/0ThEQ ➡ Main finding: Growing up in a thriving community dramatically improves children’s outcomes through social interactions. The Maryland Governor's Office for Children has opened applications for the ENOUGH Grant Program, a first-of-its-kind, state-led, place-based strategy to create poverty-fighting opportunities driven by communities’ lived experience and expertise, data, and cross-sector partnerships. This initiative is a critical part of a collective effort to combat child poverty and enhance economic mobility. Eligible communities can submit their Notice of Intent to Apply by July 19, 2024.
