DYK? 30 years ago, SRI established the first Virtual Private Network (VPN). VPNs allow network hosts (like PCs and servers) to exchange network messages across another network as if they were part of the same network. For example, users might employ a VPN to connect to their work computer from home to securely access their email and files.

SRI's state-of-the-art light emitter arrays are designed to facilitate high-speed, reliable optical communication among the expanding “constellations” of small satellites. This technology not only minimizes the size, weight, and power requirements of satellite communication systems but also improves the quality and reach of communication beams.
