๐™๐™๐™Š๐™‹๐™„๐˜พ๐™Ž ๐™๐™‹๐˜ฟ๐˜ผ๐™๐™€ - Three named storms already recorded in the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season, including the notable Beryl, and projections indicating a well above-normal, potentially record-setting, season has led to concerns that the next storm could be imminent. However, a combination of factors, including an expansive high-pressure ridge dominating much of the Atlantic Ocean north of the equator and a series of Saharan dust episodes originating from the western coast of Africa, are expected to suppress tropical cyclone activity across the Atlantic Basin for the next two weeks and possibly through the remainder of July. This means the hope of seeing the next named tropical cyclone, Debby, development before early August may be "Only In My Dreams." ๐ŸŽถ We know, Debbie Gibson spelled her name with an "ie" not a "y"...that's the National Hurricane Center's fault, not ours. We're just trying to have some fun here. ๐Ÿ˜‚ #debby #debbiegibson #hurricaneseason2024 #hurricaneseason #hurricane #tropics #tropicalstorm #atlantic #atlanticbasin

Just two weeks ago, at the Snow & Ice Management Association's Snow and Ice Symposium in Pittsburgh, trueWeather's Mark Shanaberger Shanaberger and our managing partner Joshua Steven Gรกmez highlighted how easily these climatology reports can be obtained through our website. Accessing these comprehensive 10-year climatology reports is straightforward. Simply log onto https://lnkd.in/gmvbi3Gm and navigate to Certified Snowfall Reports under My Weather Tools. Once on the Certified Snowfall Reports page, select Snow & Ice Climatology on the left-hand side, then click on the Request New Climatology button in the upper-right corner. A window with a dropdown menu will appear, allowing you to choose from any of your Certified Snowfall Report locations. After selecting your location, click submit. Your request will either be available instantly or placed in our pending queue for our meteorologists to complete. If it is placed in our pending queue, you will be notified via email, upon completion, that your 10-year climatology report is ready for download in PDF or Excel format. This is just one of the many ways trueWeather continues to provide exceptional value to our clients while redefining expectations for a weather consulting service. #winter #winteriscoming #snow #snowfall #snowfighters #snowpros #snowplowing #snowremoval #snowandice #ice #deicing #brine #salt #snowandicemanagement #landscaping #landscapers #contractors #facilitymanager #facilitymanagement #facilitiesmanagement #truewx

This afternoon, a line of storms will begin to form along the Appalachians, extending from Upstate New York down through central Pennsylvania and into parts of western Maryland, northern Virginia, and eastern West Virginia. The more intense storms are anticipated to develop later this evening and persist until around midnight, moving east-northeast through New England and the Northern Mid-Atlantic. Primary threats include damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph, with potential tornadic activity, especially in central New York, northern Pennsylvania, southern Vermont, and western Massachusetts. Additionally, heavy rainfall may result in localized flash flooding due to the slow-moving nature of these storms. #northeast #newengland #midatlantic #beryl #severeweather #severewx #tornado #tornadoes #heavyrain #flashflooding #weather

However, with the intense heat and lack of rain since last week's updated map release, the landscape of drought conditions across the West will begin to look dramatically different starting this week. The not-so-great news is that the extreme heat and respite from rain are forecasted to continue through the end of July, which means the drought conditions for areas west of the Rockies will continue to expand and deepen rapidly over the next few weeks. #west #westcoast #rockies #california #cawx #drought #dry #rain #heavyrain #weather

As the moisture from Beryl's remnants passes by to the southeast over the next few days, it appears that most of the Northern Plains and Upper Great Lakes will see near or below-normal precipitation anomalies through the remainder of July. This forecast is particularly welcome, given that much of the area currently faces 6-hour flash flood guidances of less than 3" of rain, with many areas having thresholds lower than 1.5". Now, this does not mean that these regions won't receive any rain through the rest of July, but rather that a widespread surplus of rain is not expected. #dakotas #ndwx #sdwx #minnesota #mnwx #wisconsin #wiwx #rain #rainfall #flashflood #dry #rainfree #weather

This will be particularly significant for areas in the Carolinas and Virginia, where 1-2.5" of rain is expected, with some locations potentially receiving upwards of 3". While this may inconvenience outdoor activities planned for late in the work week and the weekend, it will benefit the expanding and intensifying drought conditions in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia. Although this rainfall will not fully resolve the ongoing drought issues in these states, it will certainly provide some relief. #carolinas #scwx #ncwx #virginia #vawx #rain #rainfall #heavyrain #flood #flooding #drought

For Southern New England, that relief will arrive on Wednesday as the temperatures dip back into the 80s after a stretch where daytime highs were in the 90s and heat indices exceeded 100ยฐ. However, much of the Mid-Atlantic will have to wait until Friday for some sub-90ยฐ temperatures and heat indices to drop below 100ยฐ. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately for those of you with browning lawns, the heat-buster will be the return of wet weather, associated with the remnants of Beryl, that will linger into the weekend. #northeast #midatlantic #newengland #hot #heat #heatwave #extremeheat #summer

Through Wednesday morning, look for widespread 1.5-3" rainfall amounts with upwards of 5" locally to span from the Texas shoreline northward through eastern Texas and far western Louisiana, southeast Oklahoma, northwest Arkansas, southern Missouri, and into southern Illinois and central Indiana. Isolated rain totals exceeding 10" will be possible in portions of eastern Texas, which will undoubtedly lead to flash flooding in those areas, but the potential for flooding and flash flooding will exist along Beryl's path through the Central United States with much of the aforementioned rain coming in relatively short order. While this rainfall should help improve the existing drought and abnormally dry conditions in northern Arkansas, southern Illinois, and portions of Indiana, it will, unfortunately, miss western parts of Oklahoma and Texas where drought conditions are even more severe. #rain #rainfall #heavyrain #flood #flooding #flashflooding #severeweather #severewx #drought
