“It is my strong desire to shed light on our BIPOC community, discover their talents, and advance their professional aspirations in a space that can help nurture and mentor them to their goals.” – Hadir Radwan, LMFT, Two Chairs Clinician and Lead of the BIPOC Employee Resource Group To kick off #BIPOCMentalHealthMonth, we’re celebrating our community of clinicians who identify as Black, Indigenous, and people of color and everything they bring to Two Chairs. Through professional development, mentorship, and cultural celebration, our BIPOC employee resource group (ERG) advances representation and success at all levels of the organization. If you’re a clinician looking for a new role in therapy, learn more about how our ERGs can enhance your experience of working at Two Chairs: https://lnkd.in/ggqSsKpz

“I’m really passionate about advocating for the queer/gay community. Being a part of it myself, I feel very included, loved, and cared for when I’m with other people who are queer and gay — and with allies as well! So I wanted to help create a space like that at Two Chairs.” — Joslyn Reisinger, MA, LMHC, Two Chairs Therapist and Leader of the Pride Employee Resource Group. When you become a clinician at Two Chairs, you have the opportunity to join our employee resource groups and gain support and community, professional growth opportunities, and more. Today is the fourth anniversary of the acknowledgment of Juneteenth as a federal holiday in the United States. On June 19th, 1865, federal soldiers landed in Galveston, Texas, to announce that the war had ended and that the enslaved people were free — a full 2.5 years after President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth is the oldest known commemoration of ending slavery in the United States. To all of our Black clients, clinicians, community members, and other team members: We see you. #juneteenth

Shared experiences or perspectives in the therapy room can make a world of difference — for both the client and the therapist. To celebrate #PrideMonth this year, we asked one of our clinicians, Joslyn Reisinger, MA, LMHC to share their thoughts on what inspired them to do the work they do. Joslyn works with clients from all backgrounds, but their specialization is working with young queer adults who have experienced trauma in areas like relationships — work that has grown out of their own experiences.

It's been a few days and I'm still feeling energized by the Motivo conference last week! Thanks to Rachel McCrickard, LMFT and Jon Stout for bringing together a fantastic group and fostering some insightful conversations. As to the topic of workforce shortage: it's clear to me that this will still exist in the short-term. That means we need to make what we have count. We can reduce provider burnout with the right tools for our clinicians; we can support those early in their careers through the licensing process. While taking care of our clinicians is mission-critical, let's not lose sight of our ultimate goal: helping people get better. Those of us delivering care need to hold ourselves accountable to the highest quality standards. This means matching patients with the right therapist quickly, measuring results, adjusting care based on patient progress, and eventually graduating them. I'm confident that this collection of leaders will change the game - let's keep making progress. Excited to see where we will be in a year's time! Motivo Health Two Chairs

Let’s face it: Though rewarding, therapy can be a lonely profession. We’re proud of the sense of community that we’ve fostered throughout our clinical team, and today, to round out #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth, we’re excited to announce that we’re strengthening that community with the launch of five employee resource groups (ERGs). While ERGs are common in tech and larger organizations, they may be a new concept for clinicians. In this new blog post from Aubrey Harrison, Ph.D., head of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging at Two Chairs, learn more about what ERGs are, why they’re important, and which ones you could join if you become a therapist at Two Chairs. https://lnkd.in/ggqSsKpz
