On this World Oceans Day, we celebrate Sandals Resorts International’s steadfast commitment to marine conservation through impactful programs, spearheaded by the Sandals Foundation, and their support for sustainable innovation. Let’s all join forces to preserve and protect the natural wonders of the Caribbean and beyond.
As an island region, the ocean is integral to our way of life in the Caribbean. This #WorldOceansDay, we're excited to highlight initiatives aimed at protecting our oceans. Our ongoing program in Curaçao, Future Goals, led by the Sandals Foundation and AFC Ajax, uses recycled plastic bottles and fishing nets from the sea to create soccer goals. This initiative inspires children to embrace sustainability through their love of soccer. In addition, we recently welcomed PROTEUS™ scientists to Sandals Royal Curaçao. Led by Fabien Cousteau, PROTEUS™ is an advanced underwater habitat designed to drive innovation and research in ocean science. Supported by our’ PADI-certified scuba diving program and watersports experts, the team visited one of their potential locations, just a few miles from the resort, to collect crucial data for the project's advancement. We rolled up our sleeves for a hands-on CPR, First Aid & AED Training session, with everyone showing genuine enthusiasm to learn. It’s all about ensuring each team member can respond confidently in an emergency, thus making our workplace safer for all.
