With nearly 70,000 students and over 10,000 employees, Virginia Beach City Public Schools continues to be a highly successful, diverse school district and employer of choice. The City of Virginia Beach, located on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean and the Chesapeake Bay, frequently makes the "best places" lists in a number of publications. Articles frequently cite its high performing schools, low crime rate and mild climate as reasons why the area is considered such a desirable place to live. Known as a vacation destination because of its 22 miles of public beaches, Virginia Beach is also a great place to live, work and play.

Congrats to Ethan, family and friends! We are so proud of you and all the class of 2024. 🎓👏👏👏 #VBCPSGRAD #EducationMatters
In 2020, my oldest child, Ethan, started his freshman year at Landstown High School remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This was not the school he was zoned for because he was accepted into the Governor's STEM Academy, so there were only a few students he knew from middle school attending with him. How can you make connections with your new classmates in a remote learning environment? You really can't, and that was a struggle, not just for him, but for so many students across the country. The class of 2024 is so resilient! They overcame A LOT to make it to graduation! I'm so proud of them, and especially proud of all that my son was able to accomplish academically. Ethan graduated with an advanced studies diploma, magna cum laude, with an estimated 30 college credits through AP and dual enrollment classes. I'm so grateful for the opportunities he has had thanks to Virginia Beach City Public Schools and the dedicated faculty at the Governor's STEM Academy at Landstown High School. Next, Ethan will be attending Old Dominion University to study mechanical engineering. I could not be more proud of him! #ODUBound #VBCPSGrad #classof2024 #proudmom
