Our team from across the country comes together in DC for our annual All Hands meeting. We recently gathered to learn from each other, celebrate the successes from the previous year, and hear from some incredible guest speakers like journalist brody mullins, podcast pros, and non-profit leaders, as well as the CEO of OPRG, Chris Foster. Take a look at some highlights from our time together.

Each summer, healthcare leaders and visionary thinkers come together at #AspenIdeasHealth to discuss the future of health, medicine, and science. Our colleagues Justin Rouse and Celina Shakil Spielman will be in Aspen sharing their experience and takeaways throughout the week!
Heading to my favorite event of the year tomorrow: #AspenIdeasHealth! Each year, The Aspen Institute challenges us to collaborate and develop solutions that improve outcomes and drive value for patients. This year, I’m paying particular attention to: The Ongoing Need for Improved Health Equity: We cannot lose focus on this critical mission. Health outcomes alarmingly differ depending on a patient’s race, gender, education level, and location. We need to hold all health industries (and policymakers!) accountable for their promises to close equity gaps in care. Realizing the Promise of Digital Health and AI: I’m looking for companies and organizations that have something to show in digital health and/or AI. Is there a company out there that is actually improving patient experiences with either technology in a way that is scalable and sustainable? Partnerships, Partnerships, Partnerships: Patients need to be at the center of everything we are doing in healthcare, and finger-pointing must evolve into collaborative solutions. No one industry is solely responsible for the cost of care, the inequity of care, or the inaccessibility of care, but all bear some responsibility. If we can get out of our corners and come to the table collaboratively, patients will benefit. The Fight Against Cancer: #ASCO24 gave me so much hope about progress we are making on new therapies and treatments for cancers that used to be death sentences. At the same time, we are seeing a concerning rise in cancer rates among younger adults, which we need to understand and solve. Screenings, diagnostic testing, therapies, and treatment all need to transform to meet the moment and reverse this trend. Ensuring Health Policy Delivers: The health policy landscape is full of misguided laws, regulations, and ideas that are setting patient care back decades. We need to do better at the state, federal, and international levels. We need to hold policymakers accountable in the court of public opinion and – this year – at the ballot box! I’ll be sharing my on-the-ground thoughts here throughout the week and will be back next week with my 5 big Aspen takeaways.
