📢 Are you a *neurotypical librarian* who'd like to give feedback on a research survey closing on Wednesday? If so, read on! A University of Washington Information School research team is conducting a two-year research project to improve our understanding of and our ability to include neurodivergent librarians in the library workforce. The team seeks public or academic librarians who identify as neurotypical (not neurodivergent in any way), and have worked in libraries within the past five years, to participate in a pilot survey conducted by faculty and graduate students from the iSchool. This survey will inform the development of training and a toolkit for managers and employees, and a curriculum module and toolkit for MLIS programs across the U.S. to prepare inclusive future librarians and improve overall neurodiversity inclusion and empowerment in the library profession nationwide. Experience working directly with neurodivergent librarians is not required. The survey will take 25-35 minutes to complete and includes feedback questions so you can help us improve the survey. Survey and additional information at https://lnkd.in/g6Sh2Q9A . Responses by July 31 greatly appreciated. Currently, neurodivergent librarians remain underrepresented in the profession, and there is very little research and few established practices to guide their recruitment, onboarding, retention, and advancement. The goal of this study is to build libraries’ capacity, at the team level, to improve employment outcomes of neurodivergent librarians, including representation, empowerment, equity, belonging, and advancement. Please consider participating in this pilot survey to share your feedback.
