India is fast becoming the epicenter for global leadership.   Global Capability Centers (GCCs) across India have seen a staggering 120X rise in global roles over the past decade. The country now boasts over 5,000 such senior positions steering decision making for their Global HQs.   “This transformation is due to the maturing capabilities of India’s centers of excellence and how technology has enabled deeper data-driven customer insights,” notes Pari Natarajan CEO of Zinnov in today's The Times Of India feature.   Key to this seismic shift is a rich talent pool of digital, engineering, and leadership skills. As global companies concentrate more critical responsibilities in India across R&D, services, and customer-facing functions, they are also elevating leaders in the country to drive organization-wide strategy.   We believe that India is aggressively staking its claim as a global hub for innovation, talent, and leadership. We expect the rise to continue as India cements its status as the epicenter of global leadership. Sujit John | Sarv Saravanan | Chitra Sukumar | Vishal Bhasin #India #GCC #Leadership #talent

From execution hub to global transformation powerhouse: Is your #GCC ready for the 10X leap? As GCCs evolve from support functions to innovation drivers, they're poised for exponential growth. But what does this '10X leap' really mean for your organization? This keynote from #ZinnovConfluence 2024 with Karthik and Nilesh of Zinnov explores this evolution of GCCs and what it means for leaders today.  So, what's changing for GCCs? Let's break it down: 1. Aligning with the big picture: GCCs must sync up with their parent companies' top goals. This means growing more tech leaders in India who can work smoothly in both physical and digital worlds.   2. Putting customers first: It's time for GCCs to focus on end customers, not just headquarters. This shift, along with attracting top talent, is crucial for success.   3. Innovate to grow: GCCs should build strong innovation processes and team up with startups and universities. Investing in breakthrough ideas is key to adding real value and having a say in big decisions. Nilesh Thakker, President, of Zinnov, and Karthik Padmanabhan, Managing Partner, Zinnov stressed that true ownership in tech means owning the whole process—from strategy to design, building, and updating. It's a call for GCCs to step up, create more value, and lead in global innovation. Watch this space for more updates. India's global roles have surged from 175 in 2015 to 6,500 in 2023, with projections reaching 30,000 by 2030. This growth stems from the evolution of Global Capability Centers (#GCCs), transforming from back offices to strategic hubs.   Karthik Padmanabhan, Managing Partner, Zinnov recently told The Economic Times: "Ever since leadership growth has been recognized in India, we have a number of organizations trusting Indian GCCs to take on larger mandates. These mandates could be in the form of portfolio ownership, product conception, architectural decision, leaders leading across full product lines--these are seen in multiple parts of GCCs."   This shift is reshaping global business operations and boosting India's tech influence. As we continue to drive the discourse of this pivotal shift, we look forward to seeing how the rise of global roles will change the talent flow worldwide, impact innovation in global companies, and alter business strategies.   Beena Parmar from The Economic Times covers this story as it unfolds. "Boards aren't mysterious entities. They're made up of operating executives, like many of you were 10 or 15 years ago - diverse individuals combining their experience with company knowledge to make decisions." – Shashank Samant, Executive Chairman, Hitachi Digital, Hitachi.   At Zinnov Confluence 2024, Shashank Samant and Pari Natarajan, CEO of Zinnov, engaged in a discussion aimed at demystifying boardroom dynamics. They explored key topics such as the evolution of boardrooms over the years, how boards are currently approaching AI differently from past technological shifts, and the influential roles that N-1 and N-2 leaders can play in boardroom decision-making.   Key insights from their conversation include: - Boards are becoming more diverse and younger, with a growing focus on AI. They are taking an aggressive stance on AI, recognizing it as both an opportunity and an existential threat. - Leaders transitioning to board roles need to become "ambidextrous," adapting to rapidly changing contexts and shifting from an operational to an oversight mindset. - N-1 and N-2 leaders aspiring for a seat at the boardroom table can seek a board member to mentor them. This approach is based on the understanding that these leaders are simply individuals who are more advanced in their field and can assist in their growth.   Stay tuned for more from #ZinnovConfluence. #AI #Leadership #Growth

Today the difference between market leaders and laggards often comes down to one factor: the caliber of their teams. But how do we build teams that thrive and drive innovation? This panel of industry experts shared tested strategies on how to build high-performing teams at #ZinnovConfluence 2024. Here are the key takeaways: 1. Today's elite teams blend empathy, humility, and relentless #innovation. For instance, this shift in the #automotive sector has transformed engineering from purely mechanical to data-driven, demanding a more collaborative #leadership approach. 2. Success now hinges on deep, practical customer understanding. High-performing teams engage directly with customers, building genuine empathy that translates into market-leading solutions. 3. Building self-sufficient engineering organizations with global leadership is no longer optional—it's essential for survival. Top companies now focus on creating environments where talent feels deeply engaged, driving innovation and retention.   "Tenacity, curiosity, empathy, and being human are essential traits for sustaining high performance." In an age where technology is ubiquitous, this panel made it clear - it's the human element that's becoming the true differentiator for market leaders.
