“I have had the honor and pleasure of working with Jill Tager at ChenMed for over seven years and I am continually inspired by her passion for delivering better health to the neediest population of our seniors. As the Managing Director of Clinical Operations, Jill was instrumental in driving many of the clinical practices and programs across the organization, creating quality standards that ensured the safest and best care for our seniors. Jill also led a team of clinical professionals by mentoring and inspiring her team, and being a positive role model and patient advocate. I highly recommend and endorse Jill in any role in which clinical expertise is sought along with a results driven, compassionate, and caring leader who inspires the teams she leads as well as the colleagues she works with. Any healthcare organization would be very fortunate to have Jill as part of their clinical leadership team.”

How can remote work improve your work-life balance?
There are pluses and minuses to the work life balance benefits with remote work. Most find the ability to set their start/stop time and fit in personal errands appealing. The challenge is ensuring boundaries are set so you don’t end up working all the time. The social interactions that are part of work life balance that you get from onsite work is often lost with remote work, often creating feelings of isolation for the remote worker. Key to remote work is attending to your personal socialization and having a great leader who makes time for virtual socials so employees feel connected to each other.

Your staff development training is falling short. What can you do to get your team up to speed?
Evaluation of training is often overlooked yet this feedback is critical to adequately assess the effectiveness of the learning experience for the participants and provide presenters with valuable information on how they can improve their material and/or presentation style. For programs that are offered on a regular cadence, we review program evaluations with the presentation team on a quarterly basis and then tweak the material based on that feedback.

Your staff development training is falling short. What can you do to get your team up to speed?
Format selection is critical to engage staff in the learning experience and support skill acquisition. It is ideal when you can incorporate a variety of formats into the instructional design. When using instructor led training, we have found that virtual breakout sessions for discussions and gaming works well to keep large groups engaged.
