Mass Challenge recruits volunteers who are industry experts and experienced entrepreneurs to facilitate growing and scaling new businesses. As a judge, I focus on assessing the strengths and capability of a startup to create value for a customer, helping to select candidate startups who can and will improve their business using the Mass Challenge experience. Mentoring a startup is a process of inquiry and facilitation, refining a business and leaders to have a clear and valuable purpose commercializing innovation and winning Mass Challenge. I help businesses with new ceramic and nano-scale materials, chemical processes, novel batteries, polymers, industrial sensors and electronics, clean-tech, energy, wind energy, consumer products, medical technology, renewables, software, hard-tech, soft-tech, and no-tech.
