Did you hear about the new genetic study of sacrifice victims from the Maya city of Chichén Itzá that was published last week? In it, a team of researchers from Germany and Mexico discovered that contrary to the popular assumption that the Maya primarily sacrificed young women and girls, all of the sacrifice victims from this ancient site were young boys, and many of them were related.
