Last week, ANSER had the pleasure of participating in the 2024 Manufacturing USA Network Meeting at the American Geophysical Union (AGU) in Washington, DC. This event convened the 17 Manufacturing Innovation Institutes (MIIs) and their Federal partners. Highlights included an insightful update from the DoD MII Program Manager on the nine DoD MIIs, prepared with help from the ANSER team. Additionally, the OSD ManTech Deputy Director elaborated on the newly completed and approved OSD ManTech Education and Workforce Development Strategy, thanks to contributions from ANSER staff. 💡 Innovation Project Update: Acclimate⚡ 👏 We're excited to share an update on our innovation project, Acclimate! A key milestone has been achieved with the patent approval for the project, credited to LNO Lt. Justin O'Brien, the driving force behind this remarkable endeavor. 🙌 We want to recognize the efforts of MSgt Ryan Powers and TSgt Justin Merritt from ADAB, AFCENT, who initiated the contract for the R&D SBIR Phase 2. Their dedication and hard work have been instrumental in bringing Acclimate to life. 💪 The contract award is a big win for Lt. O'Brien, as he will receive financial benefits in accordance with the recently published DOD Instruction 5535.08 – DOD DOMESTIC TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER PROGRAM. According to the guidelines, Inventors (Lt. O'Brien) are to annually receive the first $2,000 and thereafter share at least 20 percent of any remaining royalties or other payments received on any invention licensed by a DoD Component. This recognition sets a powerful precedent for future airmen who aspire to become inventors, serving as living proof that they too can make a significant impact and feel empowered to strive for more. 🤝 We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Colin Dziadaszek from AFWERX and the Refinery and Major Orson Porter from AFMC/CDX for their invaluable partnership and the ongoing support we have received from the Air Force Research Laboratory, Air Combat Command, Air Force Materiel Command, and 9th Air Force (AFCENT) communities.
