For the 80th anniversary of D-Day our Studio gates at Pinewood and Shepperton are lit red, white and blue to honour the brave souls who fought and made sacrifices for our freedom. The official film and photographic record of the D-Day landings was taken by No. 5 AFPU (Army Film and Photographic Unit). Members of the unit were based and trained at #PinewoodStudios before being embedded with formations during the landings. Stages at #SheppertonStudios were used for sugar storage and later set designers and technicians based at the Studios created decoy aircrafts. #DDay80

Sword and Sandals epic #Troy was released in the UK 20 years ago #OnThisDay ⚔️ #ShotAtShepperton mainly for interior sets, such as the Palace of Troy, Shepperton is also where the 38-foot-tall “wooden” (or rather steel/fiberglass) Trojan horse was created before being shipped to Malta in pieces!
