We were honoured to be an The Earthshot Prize nominator with a significant number of Australian climate solutions applying through the Climate Investor Forum for the Earthshot Prize – all directly contributing to decarbonsiation and a vast array of climate solutions with scalable technologies for our shared global challenges. Australia's is highly competitive in the global market, particularly in sectors we possess natural key advantages and have a uniquely developed expertise such as in #food and #agriculture, #minerals and resources, renewable energy and the #energy transition along with oceans and the blue economy,  circular economy, buildings and infrastructure, to name just a few.

Nature is increasingly becoming a part of many investors' agenda. To support this shift, we've partnered with leading early-stage market players who share our vision for equitable nature-positive investments. Together, we've created the Nature Investor Circle, a platform for co-developing high-impact strategies and tools. The The Earthshot Prize isn’t your random environment prize. It’s the most prestigious award in the climate sphere focusing on: 🏝️ Protect and Restore Nature 🍃 Clean our Air 🌊 Revive our Oceans ♻️ Build a Waste-Free World 🌍 Fix our Climate. It also carries a £1M award for each winner. This week, after a thorough screening process of hundreds of applicants,we at Climate First were honored to submit 20 exceptional Israeli climate tech companies and innovators for the Earthshot prize. In what’s probably the most challenging economic times we’ve had in 15 years, applying and competing for this prize gives climate tech companies not only a chance for extra funds - it also gives them visibility and a chance to connect with industry leaders. 🌍✨ Just attended the Earthshot Impact Stories event at the stunning London Sky Garden, and I am truly inspired! Hosted by Hannah Waddingham, I had the opportunity to listen to Prince William, Earthshot Prize chief executive Hannah Jones, and one of the prize’s trustees, Tokunboh Ishmael, as well as have a chat with several Earthshot prize nominees afterwards. Here are some key takeaways: - Data-Driven Decisions: Innovators emphasising the importance of data to support making impactful decisions. - Communicating Impact: Effective communication is crucial in showcasing the difference we make. - Innovation-Investor Partnerships: The importance of collaboration to scale impactful innovations. Something Innovate UK supports through the Investor Partnerships Future Economy programme - Refreshingly positive: Positively approaching the climate crisis with hope. - Hotbed of Innovation: There's is a wealth of creativity out there and simple ideas can lead to significant impact. According to The Earthshot Prize motto, URGENCY+OPTIMISM = ACTION, Change is not happening fast enough or at the scale we need. Despite the challenges of high levels of climate anxiety and political interventions occurring too slowly, we remain optimists, while we continue finding solutions within our own company and beyond. Last week, at London Climate Action Week, we joined with other likeminded individuals and companies to share innovative approaches and find genuine new avenues for a more regenerative planet while repairing the environment. Our Founder and Piñatex Inventor, Dr Carmen Hijosa, was invited by The Earthshot Prize and its partner, Bloomberg Philanthropies, to take part in a series of events alongside a select group of innovators, experts and business leaders, discussing innovations that can set the planet on a healthier path. “The Earth is at a tipping point. We face a stark choice: either we continue as we are and irreparably damage our planet, or we remember our unique power as humans and our continual ability to lead, innovate and problem-solve. People can achieve great things.
