Did COP28 create a buildings breakthrough? In our final episode of Sustainable Forces Podcast for season two, our host Dr Michelle Dickinson (MNZM) chats to Cristina Gamboa, CEO at the World Green Building Council and Nigel Tonks, our Sustainable Development Director for Property. Together, they break down the Buildings Breakthrough agenda and explain how collaboration is creating a cleaner global building sector. Cristina shares, “The buildings breakthrough is happening with the commitments behind it to implement decarbonisation road maps, advance and promote better standards and address the just transition we want to make happen.” Join us and find out about: - The Buildings Breakthrough launch - What happened at the UN’s Buildings and Climate Global Forum in Paris - Global examples of decarbonising the buildings sector - Tips and inspiration for creating change Listen and subscribe here: https://bit.ly/3V9J0dF #BuildingsBreakthrough #NetZero #SustainableForces

Join VIBE in supporting the annual social media campaign for Net Zero Buildings Week from June 12 to 16 2023. This year’s theme is “Decarbonize for Good.” Supporters will share resources on social media about building decarbonization, net zero buildings, and the people behind this work! One of VIBE’s upcoming guidance reports is on the topic of decarbonization too. Other organizations, firms, and individuals are invited to participate in this free opportunity to more widely promote their work by sharing case studies, guides, webinars, podcasts, community success stories, funding opportunities, and events related to net zero and carbon neutral buildings using one unifying hashtag #Decarb4Good. Most anticipated and must watch forum!!! Circularity in the Built Environment: a solution to the triple planetary crisis. Zero Carbon materials for Buildings by decarbonising heavy emmision materials such as cement and steel. (Did you know it is possible to lower carbon emissions of cement and steel materials by +50% by implementing smart and innovative technology solutions such as adding Basalt fiber materials into the mix?!) Just another way to help Mother earth….

"It's a complicated, interconnected challenge, and working on it requires incredible alignment. Layered on top of that, climate challenges are impacted by what everyone on Earth currently extracts and consumes, and changing that requires a huge culture shift around how and what we value." Sustainability and design has to go hand in hand, to bring about the needed culture shift. #sustainability #design #innovation

Transforming construction for a greener tomorrow. Revolutionary technology is reshaping the building landscape, aiming to construct with a gentler environmental footprint and combat climate change. Yet, a united effort is needed to escalate its widespread usage. Focus is now on embodied carbon, the CO2 released during material creation. Materials like concrete and steel, forming more than half of a building, are under scrutiny. CO2, a major greenhouse gas, plays a significant role in global warming. Encouragingly, businesses are stepping up their game for sustainability, as emphasised by Deloitte's recent report. Innovation and technology are set to propel this transformation. Together, let's lay the foundation for a sustainable world. 🌱 Full article: https://bit.ly/3qVAJgP RTO Code 21583 #GreenConstruction #Innovation #ClimateSolutions
