In our new video series ‘Outside the Box’ we deliver a mystery box to Florence Lam, Arup Fellow. Exploring each object inside the box, Florence shows us how lighting design is about more than casting light into darkness – light and shade together make up the perception and meanings of space, whether imbuing a sense of nostalgia and wonder within historic heritage sites or creating a safe and inclusive urban night-time environment in harmony with nature.
