The frontlines can be a struggle. This week we heard that while in the short session in Salem, the Oregon Legislature is trying to pass their version of Campaign Finance Reform that doesn't even come close to the changes we want to see in Oregon politics. SNAP, or what was once referred to as food stamps, like all other funded measures should be stripped from any other legislation. They certainly do not belong in a farm bill unless it is farmers who are using the program. How is it unreasonable to expect some return from the supplement taken from all to provide some nebulous level of support? How is a requirement to provide work in exchange for the charity of tax payers who are working unreasonable? Far better that programs to support the truly needy be provided by local churches or other local groups who know the families and understand how the support is used. The rampant denial of our fiscal circumstances will eventually cure itself with the destruction of all; perhaps that's the goal. Johnson should simply submit legislation titled "No Limits Until We Collapse" act. No more spending caps, no restrictions on budgets, keep spending until the real war begins. At that point Darwinian survival will take hold and only the strongest will survive. https://lnkd.in/eEW-3MGG
