Battery was invented by Alessandro Volta in 1800 while it took 2 years , the year 1802 when the first bulb ( electric arc bulb) was invented by Sir Humphrey Davi . What if Volta had not kept the battery juiced up ? The bulb could never been have tested. And off course usable electricity as we know it was invented after the invention of both the battery and the electric arc bulb.

Adding the typical wide flange beam and tube steel posts to support the addition of an operable wall into a building project involves many steps: 1) A structural engineer has to determine load and deflection calcs, 2) A fabricator has to to provide the materials and prepare the beam for attachments as engineered by the partition supplier, 3) Iron workers have to stage the materials and install. Most of the time the addition of a support system doesn’t consider how to stage a beam that can typically be more than 20 feet long into the room - so if not on a ground floor, this can involve cranes, rigging, street closure fees and glazing costs to take out a curtain wall window to load the support materials and to reinstall the window after. This traditional structural support process adds cost, involves multiple subcontractors and handoffs, and can take significant time - sometimes weeks and weeks. As a long time installing operable wall distributor I have PM’d many projects from the field where the partition punching template was prepped wrong causing rework prior to installing the partition adding even more cost. All of this is why Integrating a truss support system that is pre-engineered for the specific load requirements by the partition mfg., prepped ready for the partition opening width and ceiling height by the partition mfg. that can be easily staged into the project via std construction elevators and erected by the partition mfg.’s authorized distribution make so much sense. I was teaching Bernoulli principle that when a fluid moves from high pressure area to low pressure, it does so with lot of velocity. It derives from conservation of energy. The following practical examples will tell you how much we encounter this effect in real life. 1. When we accelerate water flow in a hose by partially blocking its vent. 2. Injection needles have a narrow vent and thus convert your pressure to kinetic energy 3. When you enter a metro station, the sudden breeze of air that welcomes you.... 4. Super windy narrow tunnels forming between adjacent buildings 5. Finally, the motivation for this post: If you haven't realized yet, farting is also a good example of Bernoulli effect.
