On Juneteenth, we remember this day in 1865 when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to ensure that all enslaved people were freed. This day honors the legal ending of slavery in the United States. BMC commemorates Juneteenth as a time to reflect on history, honor those who struggled, and celebrate with our community. We continue to commit to a future of racial justice and equity.
