Transforming construction for a greener tomorrow. Revolutionary technology is reshaping the building landscape, aiming to construct with a gentler environmental footprint and combat climate change. Yet, a united effort is needed to escalate its widespread usage. Focus is now on embodied carbon, the CO2 released during material creation. Materials like concrete and steel, forming more than half of a building, are under scrutiny. CO2, a major greenhouse gas, plays a significant role in global warming. Encouragingly, businesses are stepping up their game for sustainability, as emphasised by Deloitte's recent report. Innovation and technology are set to propel this transformation. Together, let's lay the foundation for a sustainable world. 🌱 Full article: https://bit.ly/3qVAJgP RTO Code 21583 #GreenConstruction #Innovation #ClimateSolutions

In a pivotal move last year, the Victorian government announced that from 1 January 2024, new homes and subdivisions will only have electrical connections, phasing out natural gas. This policy steers homebuilders towards using electric appliances for essentials like heating and cooking, marking a departure from the traditional gas-electricity mix. The shift aims to reduce carbon emissions, aligning with Victoria's emission reduction goals, as natural gas accounts for about 17% of the state's emissions. Transitioning to electric homes, powered by clean energy and efficient appliances, is now seen as the most cost-effective way to power Victorian homes, according to Energy Minister Lily Ambrosio. It also addresses health concerns, with studies linking gas combustion in homes to respiratory issues. What are your thoughts on the impact this will have on the industry and homeowners (if any)?
