Believe In Yourself-Know Your Worth-Trust The Process & Know What's Meant for you; will be yours. As an experienced Sr. Executive, Personal, Office Liason: Whatever title you put to this role, I come with decades of experience in many directions or roles at once. Our career path sometimes goes unnoticed while we have endless days, 7 days a week, a life dedicated to our work but yet someone with no experience, no idea what it takes to be someone that is proactive, thinking behind and ahead, doing whatever it takes; Whether its part of their job or not just so it doesn't cause a bigger flag..gets the title with absolutely no experience or value. It's often, this role gets disrespected because we are are threat and an asset. A True Leader knows the value of a right hand, an Executive Assistant & Personal Assistant and what we bring to the table. End of day, you might have the title but can you speak for it. Can you show and prove the value that comes with holding such a unique and important role to a company and its leaders. 🌻

POS Operation Manager | EX-Foodics, EX-TETEC | Fintech | SaaS | POS |Service Operations | Pay Operation | IT | Education | Data analysis
"Go Big or Go Home!" Nine years ago, I transitioned from field operations to the head office, requiring relocation. During that time, I lacked awareness of the specific position to which I would be promoted, yet I anticipated a supervisor role (a one-level promotion). A few days later, my ex-manager returned from a business trip, expressing surprise at the oversight of not informing me about my promotion to Operations Manager (a two-level advancement). Their attempt to pair more responsibilities with a lower salary was noteworthy. I'll always remember his words, 'You are the Operations Manager; show yourself as a manager; Go Big or Go Home.' This experience instilled in me the importance of recognizing my own value and avoiding settling for less. It marked a transformative realization that embracing opportunities and understanding one's worth are crucial for professional growth and success.

Assistant General Manager | Hotel Manager | '23 Rising Leaders Award - Global Hospitality Magazine | Global Hospitality Award Winner | Global Top 20 Hospitality Executives to Watch in '22 | Melrose Georgetown Hotel
Just a thought. An important one. One which I question. A hospitality colleague of mine asked me a question today after being told they lost an opportunity to someone that had years ahead of them. Why are the corporate folks afraid of hiring "first time" anything? "Why do corporate folks celebrate a facade of growing people when they constantly after each posting, post for executive property level positions, such as GM, AGM, DOO, they hire people who have had those jobs for 5-10-15 years?" "Have the area and regional managers become complacent, overwhelmed, overworked that they pretend there are no future generations that they can bet on?" "Why can not I not become the next best thing for this organization given my track record and commitment?" So the question I begin to ask, when is it time? When is it time to grow the next generation? When is it the next time to grow the next general manager? When is is the next time to bet on the next guy? I simply answered, "I do not know". Is it easier to hire someone with so much experience that the thought of someone with new ideas and perspectives is irrelevant? #realitycheck #opportunity #hardwork #Hotellife #Hotels #BeReal #Giveachance #bet #on #somebody #lazy

Am counting days the days to this event for this event with NGEN an MFA Initiative Becoming your mate's manager can be SO tough! It's not something that's talked about enough. New, young leaders are typically left to navigate this on their own, trying to figure out how to straddle friendship with leadership. Yikes! It can be messy. Awkward. Tense. But as I always say... WHERE THE TENSION IS, IS WHERE THE TREASURE IS! In this workshop, we'll be: - Unpacking what's behind our internal tensions as we become our mate's manager; - Accessing healthier mindsets to resolve these tensions and be given practical tools to start using straight away; - Deepening our self-awareness and growing as leaders... not just for our own benefit, but for the benefit of our mate and the whole team. Thank you NGEN for inviting me to run this interactive, in-person workshop with the next generation of leaders in Media. It's going to be a blast! #growingyoungleaders

Smoothing work transitions and new roles | Executive coaching for leaders | Onboarding | Be the leader that you want to be | ex-Johnson & Johnson and ex-Reckitt leader
Remember what it was like to be new? Throwback to my second sales conference ever (no photographic evidence of me dressed as an astronaut from the first time!) They were always fancy dress and fun! But, as a Graduate, it was a bit of a social and professional minefield. I lived in fear of doing or saying the wrong thing. I’d forgotten I'd felt like that. As we progress in our careers, especially when we become experienced managers, we can forget what it’s like to be new and figuring out a new team, new manager, new culture. Even if someone has moved within the organisation, there’s a lot to navigate. So, remember the last time you were new and think about what you could do to support someone around you who is stepping into a new role. #throwbacktuesday #firsttimemanager #newbie #onboardingexperience
