Cobb County's Economic Development Department has ramped up outreach to local businesses large and small. They had a tremendous year making connections. These are three of the ways they linked up with Cobb businesses in 2023: 1. Launched the “Coffee & Conversations” small business networking events. Cobb County departments shared insights about support and growth with small business owners and entrepreneurs at four events in 2023. Launched “Open Office Hours” and connected with 40 businesses since May 2023. The department created a direct link on its web page where users can schedule a meeting to get help starting or growing their business or other Community Development processes. 3. Launched the “Existing Industry Luncheon” for commercial and industrial businesses. A panel of speakers from the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Metro Atlanta Chamber, WorkSource Cobb and others shared insights at two events. The goal of these luncheons is to support business growth using tools such as job tax credits, business incentives and workforce development support.
